Penzance and Land's end

As part of a Christmas present I'm trying to organise a trip to Cornwall. Has anyone visited here? Any accomm recommendations?

Travel recommendations? How far is it to Land's End from Penzance? Is it a summery place and closed in the winter?

 

I was thinking of renting bicycles and getting to Land's end from Penzance that way..

 

The other option is visiting Stonehenge or Brighton instead as alternatives to Penzance (not cycling from Cornwall)...
