Benitez Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 he's already a good player. He's gonna be great So composed for a young'un. And he'll get a few goals. It's nice to know that he's waiting in the wings, Sami is playing well right now, so there's no rush. But we have him there ready to go!
Guest ziggystardust Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 i wont him in right now, especially at home against teams that come for a point like reading. hypia had all the ball against reading but did nothing with it, agger however with his distribution could virtually make up an extra midfielder with his surging runs and passing ability.

You talking about the Sami who pushed up into midfield, had a few long range efforts and was effectively an extra midfielder? Or another Sami?
Romario Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 I keep waiting for him to have a mare of a game but it just doesn't happen. I liked what I read about him (that he doesn't like watching or following football etc.) I actually think that works in his favour. He's just a really gifted player who plays well when called on without putting pressure on himself as he's not to bothered. I know it's not that black and white but he plays like a guy who just enjoys the run out.
Buzz Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Maybe play him for Momo in midfield for the Arsenal, although we do have other options, but I don't wanna see Zenden in midfield against Arsenal.

Maharajkumar of Vizianagram Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Maybe play him for Momo in midfield for the Arsenal I'd be very interested to see how he fares in midfield.

He does just seem to be one of these really calm and collected players. You either have it or you don't!
Romario Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Maybe play him for Momo in midfield for the Arsenal, although we do have other options, but I don't wanna see Zenden in midfield against Arsenal.I was thinking that. He's got that Hamann like zen about him when it comes to quick tight passing under pressure. Not sure if it'd be a brilliant or dreadful idea.
Guest Sabre Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Maybe play him for Momo in midfield for the Arsenal, although we do have other options, but I don't wanna see Zenden in midfield against Arsenal. Don't be thick. Zenden was possibly our best player tonight.

Benitez Posted November 8, 2006 Author Posted November 8, 2006 Didn't have the worst game tonight Much Maligned, aka Bolo Zenden, was man of the match tonight. But then Sunday is a different proposition, and it's a bit unfair to even think he can replace Momo, cos quite simply, no fecer can.
Kahnee Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Don't be thick. Zenden was possibly our best player tonight. To be fair though, the Arsenal midfield are a cut above Birmingham's

Sorry bout the overreaction in the genny football forum the other day over foreign players. Had a bad start to the day!
Guest Sabre Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 To be fair though, the Arsenal midfield are a cut above Birmingham's True. So why play Agger there?

Had a bad start to the day! no worries mate. I was just getting annoyed cos every bugger was picking on me that day, or so it seemed, so I took it out on you which wasn't very nice of me!
Buzz Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Don't be thick. Zenden was possibly our best player tonight.Didn't see it tonight, just what was in the match thread where he didn't get a mention, so can't comment on tonight, but a Birmingham midfield vrs an Arsenal midfield, hmm let me see yes your right, they are pretty much like for like....And I'm thick....

If he could reproduce that (and I'm sure he can) breaking up everything and being a pain then I guess we could be in with a shout. We'll need Gerrard and Alonso to step up and share some of momos work load too though.
Benitez Posted November 8, 2006 Author Posted November 8, 2006 amazed Zenden didn't get a mention in the match thread! He had a great game, was at the heart of everything, very composed and good passing, and had a couple sighters on goal, shame he didn't score, cos he deserved a goal.

No, thicky. Your idea was that it would be better to have Agger in central midfield instead of Bolo Zenden. Great idea. You should be manager. Then of course, you didn't even watch the fecking game tonight, so you wouldn't have seen Zenden putting in a top quality performance albeit against Birmingham. Gonzalez and Zenden were the shining lights tonight and with Momo out I wouldn't be surprised if Zenden started against Arsenal.

We'll need Gerrard and Alonso to step up and share some of momos work load too though. I guess it's a given than Xabi and Gerrard will play central now, but I think that there has to be something said about one of them taking responsibility. I don't care if that means Gerrard not maurading forward so much, if it means he protects the back line and tackles more. We need one of 'em to do it, and Gerrard has the more natural instincts to do that. Zenden is a decent back up and I don't like him on the wing either now. He hasn't the pace or strength to carry that off anymore. Edited November 8, 2006 by Benitez
