Retrial ordered on Traveller-killing Mayo farmer

Mayo farmer came across a Traveller in his yard, shot him, beat him 20 times with a stick, followed him as he limped away out of the yard and down the road and shot him again, killing him. Done (f*cking leniently) for manslaughter, 6 years.

 

Now he's getting released on bail because of the judge's instructions to the jury to disregard the (albeit entirely f*cking ludicrous) claim of full self-defence. What kind of a fecking eejit do you have to be to make instructions like that and not be aware of their potential to jeopardize the conviction?
