this f***ing book 'Haunted'

rave reviews on the back but I can't make head or tail of it

 

even worse, the style is so grating

 

so I don't understand what I'm reading and the reading itself is doing my head in

 

in fact I've abandoned it. Can any clever literary types on here please explain it, or is it just a load of cack?
