Pretty much agree with that Sean - especially about Agger. He's looking solid and composed already.

And we definitely missed Finnan

I was not impressed with Hyypia's 'attitude' on the ball. Last week I could understand us pinging balls down the wings to Gonzalez and Pennant, but not to Gerrard and Aurelio.

Maybe it was to do with confidence in our midfield. Were the defenders afraid that Sissoko and Zenden would lose the ball, leaving Hyypia to face the tricky Armstrong and Webber ?

Anyway, I could not fathom our A-Z with one pass approach considering that Fowler will be used to link play up.

i've calmed down about Saturday's result now.. if this result had happened 1st game last season i'd have probably said the same as what people said to me - but last season i felt we were still building, this season i expect us to win the league..

maybe that's where my problem lies - my expectations are too high?? maybe this season it's about bedding in all the new players before tweaking and pushing for the title next??

anyway, Saturday was just one of those game and i'm looking forward to a good display & result tomorrow night..

No, it really isn't. We're trying to win the league and if you're going to bed in new players each year then that excuse will always be present.

Truth is that we didn't play well - we had a team good enough to win but we didn't.

We thought we had ne weak players as we have had in previous years. The likes of Nunez and Cissé were clearly less than adequate, even as back up. On this evidence we need a good right back as cover as Jan was shocking, though it's only on this game so that might be harsh. We need to get the captsin in the centre and Pennant out wide. We looked unbalanced on Saturday.

Let's face it in a 6 day period most of our lads had a confidence boosting win against Chelsea and then went off to play in meaningless friendlies.

This probably left Rafa with a day of preperation in the past week. Sheff Utd were hungry for this game and probably didn't have too many players away on International duty. It showed Saturday as the came out fired up like they were in a Cup Final. Our lads on the other hand were lacklustre to say the least.

I don't think Rafa will allow too many performances like last Saturday and will make sure regradless of the ditractrions in future that the starting XI will be up for it.
