I find it funny how nearly every player involved for Chelsea on Sunday has come out and said it won't bother them, it obviously is if they need to come out and say that.

 

We would've said exactly the same thing.

 

The fact that their players got so riled up on Sunday shows it did mean something though.

I have said many times. Until we start taking points off the top teams we will have a lot to do to win the league. In the past three seasons the league winners have only lost a handful of games between them (Chelsea coasted the last few games last season). Therefore the head to head games are crucial. Last season we dropped 6 points to the Chavs 4 to Utd and 3 points to the a***. Needless to say that points swing in our direction would have won us the trophy.

It isnt just ability which wins the league, luck plays a large part too. Lump of lard has had a bad run of it lately, so I aint counting my chickens just yet.

Personally think we are all becoming a bit too excited and would rather let the russians talk up how they are going to destroy the rest of us and quietly go about our business.

 

That said, I am quietly confident - however, a lot will depend on the games against sheffield utd and esp Maccabi

 

I too am confident we can mount a challenge. It's annoying though when the kids see us talked up as challengers, something goes against us and then suddenly the manager should be sacked.

 

If we get lucky and remain injury free we will be up there, but lets not start celebrating just yet.
