We all know that we kept the most clean sheets, but just seen a list of Opta stats for the season and we also had the most shots (543), with the next highest being Chelsea (492). However our conversation rate was one of the worst (10.1%), 7th worst in the Premiership last season.

On top of that we also had the most crosses (1029) just ahead of Birmingham (1026), Pennant obvously having contributed to that. Our crossing success rate was the second highest at 30.4%, just 0.1% behind Aston Villa.

We also conceded the least amount of fouls (454) with Chelsea conceding the second least (470) and only one other team conceding less than 500 (Spurs with 495). Despite this we have had 5 players sent off this season (although I'm not sure about that one), Portsmouth and West Ham only having one player sent off all season (and West Ham's was Hayden Mullins for his handbags with Garcia). We also had more players sent off against us than any other team (14).

Crouchy had the joint 6th highest amount of shots on target this season (41), level with Darren Bent. Bent however was the player that was caught offside more than any other player (65). To put that in context Baros was only offside 40 time this season and Cisse 36.

We also only scored 6 headed goals during the league campaign, meaning there were 13 teams who scored more headers than we did.

Oh and according to this the Opta team of the season is:

Reina, Chimbonda, Terry, Ferdinand, Queudrue, Gerrard, Alonso, Lampard, Ronaldo, Rooney, Henry.

Just realised the thread title is probably a bit of a misnomer ;)

So even the opta stats puts Chimbonda in front of Finnan

they also picked a better side than Henry Winter

Andy Gray would have saved 76.5% though..

Yeah but it was the back four who really stopped them.
