The more bleating Ballague does about a deal being close, the more I believe it won't happen. Reading comments on the Spanish media websites, most Madrid fans are in agreement that Benitez is to blame and they don't want him anywhere near the club in the future. Things can change obviously but it's great to seem him putting his reputation with them on the line and showing his true allegience. I don't think Silva is a realistic target at this late stage. Rafa was scared off by the price. He'll have a couple of targets lined up but I can't see them being big names. We're just in limbo at the moment.

Defour and his agent have been quoted in the Mail saying he has an agreement with Liege that he can leave if a top club come in for him, and we fit the bill and have shown interest, blah blah.
