Well if he knew we couldn't win the league without mprovement, then he would know we couldn't afford to lose matches in the league now. It is all massive guesswork and excuse making, when Rafa, and the players have had shockers today. That isn't to say "he should be sacked right now", it is just to accept his errors today. He would have no reason to believe them either, he knows they are liars, and he must know they probably wont give him money to spend anyway. In that case he might as well go out to win every match rather than thinking longer term. We literally can't afford to think beyond our next game at the moment, because the situation is getting worrying.

Why would he believe a word they said? And he knows that the title is what we want, so really there is no point strengthening in January if we are out of the running by then, which it looks like we will be.

The risk of playing a player who isn't 100% fit isn't going to go up massively if he is on for longer, it will go up a bit, but the risk will already be there. Plus, why 60 minutes? Why not take him off at half time if that was the case? I understand what you are saying to a point, but we needed a goal, and he is by far the best goalscorer we have. Frankly we can't afford to be thinking long term at the moment, we need to be winning each game as it comes.
