  1. Fundamentally wrong again. You wanted him out when we went through a bad patch in 2008/09 season.
  2. You have been banging on about 'presiding over the worst season in 20 years' and now you claim your statement has always been 'just about our worst season in 20 years'. And yes you are fundamentally wrong.
  3. But it was one bad season in six. Then again you don't really give a sh*t do you? You wanted him out of the club since 2007. This one bad season justifies your stance.
  4. Yes well done for picking that out. Except there is one slight difference, GH's team was on the decline for 2 seasons whereas Rafa's team finished 2nd last season before the rug was pulled from under him this season. And while we are on the subject GH's team that scraped 4th place in that season would have finished 9th in the current season whereas our current points total would have seen us achieve 4th comfortably in that season.
  5. No it isn't. There was no doubt Gerrard was a great player back then but Rafa definitely took his game to the next level as highlighted by the number of goals he has scored under Rafa versus GH. Do you honestly think Gerrard would have achieved the goals tally under Houllier?
  6. The man who made LFC this force got sacked on the back of one bad season.
  7. DH doesn't think it is going to get any worse.
  8. There is no point in even trying to explain this to him. For him Rafa has been the greater of the two evils for the last three seasons. Previously he couldn't really say much but at least this season he can trot his usual 'presided over the worst season in the last 20 years' to justify his stance that Rafa should go. The reality is he REALLY CANNOT see the wood from the trees.
  9. Thats the thing. If they have a team capable of winning matches and getting into the Champions League then they will hold onto the club until they get what they want. I despair at some supporters that believe Rafa is a bigger problem than those to W*nks and that everything will be rosy once Rafa has gone. And by the way O'Neil? B*llocks to that.
  10. Agree with you mate. But it is no coincidence that the two seasons he was with us, we won trophies in each season. He was inconsistent no doubt but he did produce in the big games: CL QF vs Juve, SF vs Chelsea, FA Cup SF vs Chelsea. I personally wish we could have kept him as a squad player. He would have been useful coming off the bench for us.
  11. Not disagreeing with that but the point I was making that he is also a very lucky manager. Nothing wrong with saying that. He truly is a fantastic manager.
  12. If it makes you happy yes I am agreeing with you that Rafa inherited GH's squad. But if you read my post again you will see a key point where I said if GH had managed that squad for 10 years he would not have got anywhere near the European Cup with that team. You really are a tool.
  13. If you really want to compare, that team with that points total would have finished 9th this season. The current team would have got 4th place in that season.
  14. Mate I am not disputing that Rafa inherited a decent squad at Valencia but even that squad does not compare to the Chelsea squad Maurinho inherited nor does it compare to the Inter Milan squad inherited by Maurinho. Chelsea finished 2nd before Maurinho took over and Inter Milan had just won the league before Maurinho took over. Valencia finished 5th before Rafa took over. And finally the oft repeated 'Rafa inherited a squad that more or less won the European Cup'. What utter f*cking bulls*t. For a start Rafa added Alonso and Garcia both of whom played a huge role in helping us win the European Cup. Rafa got more out of Biscan in one season that GH could not manage in 4 seasons. If GH had managed that squad for 10 years he would not have won the European Cup. There is no doubt Rafa has screwed up this season but to belittle his achievements over the past 5 seasons in such a manner is f*cking disgraceful.
  15. The thing is Maurinho has never had to deal with boardroom politics. The one time he did have to deal with it, he got sacked. It will be interesting to see how he gets on with the Real Madrid hierarchy. Another thing, there is no doubt that he is a fantastic manager but at each club he has managed, he inherited a fantastic squad of players. He has never had to build a squad from scratch like Rafa did.
  16. No one said 7th is acceptable for this squad, it clearly is not. But why can't Rafa have one bad season.
  17. If any new owner coming in fails to see that this was a very bad season amongst some good (and some outstanding seasons) then I would seriously question his judgement to choose a suitable manager.
  18. Rafa has only recently become a problem whilst those two f*ckers have been a problem for 3 years. I know who I would like to get rid of. Re Rafa being capable of taking the club forward, he may not be the right person. But he surely deserves a season where he is given real backing in the transfer market without having to deal with the snakes at the top.
  19. Agree to a point but lets not forget City also spent heavily last season and had the basis of a good squad that was built by Sven. Hughes spent money last year and continued to do so this year. And whilst we are on starting points, lets not forget that Rafa has worked damn hard to build the foundations. He just needed some support last summer for us to take the next step. Unfortunately he was given f*ck all.
  20. And if Rafa had been given 200 million to spend we would have won the league.
  21. Agree with all that. The thing is these same people were banging the same drum last season. The stopped briefly when we had that fantastic run last season and have started again. Apparently Rafa is supposed to make a bronze statue out of sh*t on the basis that Maurinho could do it.
  22. And who f*cking sets the players in a way they can actually succeed? Mother Theresa?
  23. Yep better ones like those that call for the manager's head when he has one really bad season.
  24. I am assuming you are talking about Kuyt not Aquilani?
  25. It is a matter of opinion and I for one believe he can turn it around. The bit in bold is absolutely key - can we not just give him one season where he is not constantly screwed over by the owners. Lets just see what happens. As Jernau said in an earlier post, if the people to replace him are not Maurinho or Hiddink then sticking with a Rafa under new ownership is by far the best option.
