  1. To be precise, it looks much more like Blackburn of the late '90s ... I suppose you know that they got relegated from the Premier League just 4 years after they won the title ... Not to mention that Roy had a significant role in their decline ... Think about it ...
  2. To be honest, I am not posting this in anger ... We have been playing very poor under Roy in the league since the start of the season, and our performances seem to get worse as the time passes by ...
  3. I don't live in Liverpool, but I have visited the Anfield area and I know that it is heavily underdeveloped ... By the way, I have a huge experience in regeneration of underdeveloped areas of a big city, and I know from my own experience that the prices of the real estate can go up to 300% ...
  4. That is the beauty of the ''New LFC Stadium'' project ... As I understand it, the new stadium and the Anfield Plaza are part of the regeneration project for the entire Anfield / Breckfield area ... If you compare the disparity of both teams shirt sponsorship deals, you will see that my claim is realistic ...
  5. New Anfield will also be partly financed by the property development of the Anfield Plaza ... You hadn't picked up on that had you ? Not to mention that the naming rights for the new LFC stadium would definitely command a much bigger figure than the Arsenal stadium ...
  6. Just out of curiosity, do you know the average age of the Chelsea squad ? As always, you get all the wrong conclusions ...
  7. Enzo Francescoli, Pierre Littbarski, David Ginola, Luis Fernandez, Rabah Madjer, Maxime Bossis, Vincent Guerin,Sonny Silooy, Pascal Olmeta, Ruben Paz, Thierry Tusseau ... For 3-4 years, all of them have played at the same club and were bought by the same owner (Lagardere) ... By the way, the club is now playing in the 5th tier of the French league ...
  8. Abramovich and Mansour are not the first ones that have tried to buy ''greatness'' ... Remember Lagardere ?
  9. Their financial model is not sustainable ... Once Abramovich and Mansour lose interest in their toys, both clubs will face very difficult future ... Pretty much like Portsmouth at the moment ...
  10. We are not competing against Chelsea and City ... In 10 years, they will be fighting relegation in the Championship ... We are not even competing against the Mancs ... They are crippled by their 700 million debt and will not become competitive any time soon, at least not while the Glazers are there ... In reality, we are competing against this: http://www.arsenal.com/assets/_files/documents/sep_10/gun__1285316230_ARSENAL_HOLDINGS_RESULTS_ANNOU.pdf Read that report carefully ... Then, we can continue this conversation ...
  11. That ship has sailed ... The Mancs have no real chance of winning the PL or the CL with this team ...
  12. Maybe ... Why not try it in a competitive match ?
  13. Or we could finally play a combination of Agger & Skrtel there, and save millions ...
  14. A brief look at the table will show you that we are only 5 points away from the 4th spot ... As I have stated above, this LFC team is capable of finishing in the top 6, even with the current personnel ... IMHO, only Chelsea, Mancs, City, Arsenal and Spurs have better squads than LFC ... A quality manager, combined with a couple of quality additions in January (and I am talking about 20-million players here) at the striker & winger positions would probably make us better than Arsenal and Spurs ...
  15. Well, that is the point of this whole debate ... Managers like Rafa or Wenger are not growing on threes ... Unlike some other top managers, they actually create a system (from top to bottom) that is producing success ... Support that system with some solid funding (I have projected it at £35-40 million net spending per season), and you have a permanent title contending team ... By the way, lets not forget about the new UEFA financial rules ...
  16. It's the only correct answer ... Even as it is, our squad is good enough for a top 6 finish ... Properly motivated by a legend at the manager's post, with a couple of quality additions in January, we would be a top 4 team again ...
  17. In current conditions, I would label ''decent'' the owners willing to spend £35-40 million (net) per season ... Managers like Rafa or Wenger would easily create a title-winning team with that type of funding ...
  18. Personally, I would really like for that fantasy of yours to become reality, because I consider Roy a solid manager and a decent person ... However, we both know that it is not going to happen ... He is way out of his depth at LFC ... I have never said that I want Everton to beat us ... I have said that I could accept a defeat, if that means Kenny will be in charge from the next day ... There is a world of difference there ...
  19. What is stupid ? King Kenny being the LFC manager as soon as 18th of October 2010 ?
  20. Actually, they are not getting anything ...
  21. Sadly, I think that a win against Everton will buy Hodgson time at the LFC managers' post until the end of the season ... This is one of those ''make-or-break'' moments, and that is the only reason why I would accept a defeat against the bitters ...
  22. We will solve that problem in the summer, when we could move Vargas back to the left back position, release Aurelio, and buy Juan Mata for the left-sided attacking position ... Also, we could bring Aquilani back form his loan, and sell Poulsen ... Kyrgiakos will be out of contract, but we have Ayala and Wilson to step in ... Torres / Gomez / Ngog Mata / Jovanovic ----- Cole / Babel / Pacheco ----- Kuyt / Maxi Meireles / Aquilani ----- Gerrard / Lucas Vargas / Konchesky ----- Agger / Ayala / Wilson ----- Skrtel / Carragher ----- Johnson / Kelly Reina / Jones / Gulasci Theoretically, we could play 33 games in 142 days, from January 1st until May 22nd, in the Premier League, the Europa League and the FA Cup ... There is definitely enough playing time for 2 top class strikers on a team like LFC, especially considering Torres' injury record ... His last injury against Blackpool was just another proof that he should not play 3 games in 8 days ...
  23. If that defeat guarantees that Hodgson will be sacked and Kenny will be appointed as LFC manager, I could leave with that ...
  24. Realistically, we need only 2 top class players in January ... An out-and-out striker / target man would certainly be my priority, and to be honest, I was very pleased when we were linked with Mario Gomez back in August ... IMHO, he would be the perfect partner / backup for Torres ... The other player that I would pursue in January is Juan Vargas ... He is a great left-sided player, perfectly capable of playing both at the left wing and at the left back position ... With these 2 players, our squad will get additional balance and quality, and a good manager like Kenny would do miracles with it ... Torres / Gomez / Ngog Vargas / Jovanovic ----- Cole / Babel / Pacheco ----- Kuyt / Maxi Meireles / Poulsen ----- Gerrard / Lucas Konchesky / Aurelio ----- Agger / Kyrgiakos ----- Skrtel / Carragher ----- Johnson / Kelly Reina / Jones / Gulasci
