  1. As long as no one googles, no probs.

Today 10:27 AM #3838 thepolyorchid View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message Add as Contact TIA New Signing -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Join Date May 2008 Posts 21 Re: Liverpool FC officially FOR SALE - Broughton appointed First off, I'm absolutely not an ITK and don't claim to have any knowledge at all about any offers/likelihood of success etc. I also appreciate that some will ignore my comments given my very small number of posts to date - basically, I'm more of an observer on forums than a contributer. In terms of due diligence, I'm told that BarCap appointed a big four accounting firm to undertake a vendor due diligence piece of work several weeks ago and my understanding is that this is now practically finished. This means that when the first round of bids is received in mid July, a small number (usually 2-3) of the best bidders will be given access to this report. It would be usual for these bidders to then be asked to reconfirm their bid in a second round 2-3 weeks later - this second bid would include any upwards/downwards revision in each bidders proposed price (once they have seen the vendor due diligence report), any top up due diligence requirements (which would ordinarily be relatively small), confirmation of the source of their funds and a timetable to completion. You'd expect one bidder to be given exclusivity at that point to get the deal wrapped up in 3-4 weeks, although this timescale practically always slips from my experience! And obviously, there are still no guarantees that a deal will get done even at this point. At least the largest piece of outstanding work (the due diligence) appears to have been started a while ago. Hopefully this should mean that IF a decent offer comes in, there is a chance that it can move relatively quickly. I'm still cautious about this getting put to bed but hope that more is happening behind the scenes than we all feared!
  3. Yeah but 24 hours is a long time in politics
  4. Wrong, shes an amoeba
  5. Re: Gerrards comment yesterday re Hodgson. I read somewhere a comment from a journo, which was very apt. Yesterday wasn't Gerrards day, it was Roy press conference. Gerrard is damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't. His statement can be taken either way. True, not as clear cut as Carra's but non the less, like most things in life, time will tell. We need to chill. And personally, anyone who thinks we should cash in on him, need their heads testing. What signal would it send out if we flogged him and nando? What calibre of player from that point would we attract? Just my view.
  6. Yup that's the way it will be.
  7. No one writing him off, we're just not overly enamerred with his appointment. Slight difference. I can vouch for 99% of the people on here, and on other forums, that come the first qualifying game in July, the fans will be 100% behind him.
  8. If I didn't know better, anyone would have thought there was a rally going down this weekend....................oh wait.....................um............................
  9. Funny that they put the "for sale" news up on the offal. Last time they did that was when we were officially unofficially put up for sale. Before that, and since, pieces like that haven't appeared on the site. Nothing more than strange.
  10. And understandably so. We're better than Roy Hodgson. Fact. The problem we ween't going to get anyone better than Roy is another matter. By getting Roy Hodgson, we've accepted mediocrity. Plain and simply that.
  11. I don't really mind, just don't wipe yer c**k on me curtains. Them stains hard to get out.
  12. Now you all know what it's like shagging me missus. You spend all month waiting for it, and when it arrives, it's one soggy anticlimax.
  13. At Anfield.... [/
  14. Doesn't say he'll enjoy playing for him though. Conspiracy, conspiracy, conspiracy Gerrard: Roy right man for LFC 1st Jul 2010 - Latest News 8 Comments Email Print Share With Mixx Digg Facebook del.icio.us reddit StumbleUpon 260 Twitter Myspace News Archive Steven Gerrard today backed the appointment of Roy Hodgson by declaring: "He's the right man for LFC." Hodgson was this morning announced as the successor to Rafael Benitez after a four-week search by the club. The former Fulham boss agreed a three-year deal and is now charged with getting Liverpool back among the Champions League elite. Club captain Gerrard is confident Hodgson will prove a successful acquisition. "The club have made a good appointment in Roy Hodgson," the 30-year-old told Liverpoolfc.tv. "Rafa left a few weeks ago and I know the club were determined to take their time and get the right man for the job. "Roy is hugely experienced and I believe he is the right man for Liverpool. "I think it's been worth the wait and I'm sure he's just keen now to get on with it and start to quickly put in place his plans for the new season."
  15. Jamie Carragher is relishing the prospect of working under Roy Hodgson. The former Fulham boss was today announced as the 18th Liverpool manager after agreeing a three-year deal. He will become the fourth coach to preside over the Anfield hotseat during Carragher's playing career following Roy Evans, Gerard Houllier and Rafael Benitez. Even at 32, the vice-captain is always eager to learn and improve - and he cannot wait to team up with a manager whose CV boasts success in both domestic and international football. Carragher told Liverpoolfc.tv: "I'm really looking forward to the opportunity of working with Roy Hodgson as he's got such a great reputation in the game and is one of the most experienced managers in world football. "After this period of uncertainty, his appointment has given us all a lift."
  16. And who he brings in. As you say, it's on a knife edge at the mo, and I've no idea which side we're gonna fall on. I've an idea, and it ain't good.
  17. Sounds reasonable.
  18. sublime to the ridiculous Never mind, In Woy we trust. (how long till we can call for his head?)
  19. Hehe. This is going to end in disaster. I laugh at the people on here, who are supporting Woy, also talking up players like Murphy/Giberto Silva, etc, players, who, if Rafa was going after, you'd have blown a fuse. This isn't going to end well. Whatever you think of Hodgson, he will not be a success here. He will go down as the owners puppet, the manager who lost Torres and Gerrard in one go. The man who replaced those players with an aging/inferior, but hard working midfield, and a second rate forward. I will be more surprised in he manages to keep everyone, and turn it all around. But somehow, I can't see him doing it. It's a bad appointment, in fact, it's not bad just a bad appointment, it's a mockery.
  20. I missed off the
  21. RBS etc...
  22. f***ed off with all this. Can't even go out and buy the kit. Fooking long time since I've not done that.........like since, ever.
  23. Sorry Mike, but you're missing the point that it ain't the yanks paying for people to look like they're selling the club. The club is. It's one big game of charades, with someone elses money.........
  24. forget it.
