Jim Royle's Achievements

  1. Anyone ..... Jack Whittam Frank McGarvey Sean Dundee seems we all make mistakes
  2. Whats stunning is that you look through this chain and no one mentions Cally - he pplayed more games than anyone else for this club so he wasnt a bad player was he? Best team ever: Lawrence Lawler Byrne Milne Yeats Stevenson Callaghem Hunt St. John Smith Thompson reserve Strong
  3. It would appear that our squad is getting close to being capable of making a sustained challenge for the title but based on games like today which we dominate yet either draw or lose the game there is still something missing. Is the the real belief that we are the best (some called it arrogance) but whatever its name it is something that we lack as a team. Shankly was the master at making his players and team believe that it were the best and that everyone else was inferior. Having talent and the right team players can only take you so far but to get to the final level you need that something extra. I think its more noticable against the big teams where we really dont believe we can beat them and 9 out of 10 times we dont. Its not about the managers personality as even the mild mannered Bob Paisley had that winning belief and so did all his teams and players. We are Liverpool Football club and all others are inferior.
  4. How anyone can even think of supporting these bitter b@stards is beyond me - they taunt us in the most inhumane manner. I am shaking my head at the thought of any red scouser supporting this trash!
  5. 1966 Cup winners cup final versus borussia dortmund at hampden Park - its the only trophy we didnt win and we now cant win it.
  6. I have a dog and I am barking mad - does that qualify?
  7. Please don't dis our heritage it was what it was .... things are better today in many many different ways but it doesn't mean it was bad then. Most of the guys over 40 and that was a huge amount had fought in the war. Life was very much different to today they worked hard during the week so on a saturday they had a few bevvies and came to the match. They had been in mud and s*** and blood and snot so a bit of p1ss was nowt. They deserved their Saturday at the match so please dont paint it black - it may have been dangerous but not as dangeerous as fighting in a war.
  8. The was a famous bbc play of the day about Mersyside footy in the 60's called The Golden Vision (Alex Young) and in it a lad and his dad are stood in Gladwys Street during a derby game and the lad says 'dad I need to go' and his father rolls up his echo and gives it to the lad and says 'mind where yer point in son'. http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=TGYALk-ohno In the kop in the 60's behind every crash barrier was always an empty semi circle that no body stood in as when whe got a corner and everyone came surging down anyone at the back of a bar got crushed. So at many matches there was always a drunk who would wander in, with ciggy in one hand, dick in the other and just stand there and relieve himself producing clouds of steam. After every game the bottoms of yer jeans were always soaking.
  9. Money for nothing!
  10. The only good part of this game is that I am sat in my yard in Fort Worth sipping on a mojito and feeling glad I aint there.
  11. Alan Ball scored a goal in the 1971 FA Cup Semi Final against us and I was lying on the floor at the time - but that was because I was p1ssed - but still the linesman did not flag!
  12. Gordon West - he seemed like a nice boy
  13. A lone star at your service Sir
  14. If he plays on 'Kipper Day' i guess he'll be herring from his Rabbi?
  15. I've got BICC on the back on my Donkey Jacket and I don't even shave
