Think that in a couple of years time Chelsea will be dealing with the fallout of the current transfer policy. How can you keep so many players happy when they are on long term contracts with no incentive to improve. Injuries and lack of form will present and there will be a level of pressure on players to justify their deals in the eyes of the fanbase. I think they have opened a Pandoras box that will have serious repercussions on the club. A sort sighted short term strategy that will bite them on the a***.

He can't we don't have a squad that can challenge. The issues we had last season aren't just still there they are compounded. Until we have an ownership that is more concerned with success on the field than off it we won't challenge. We are on a hiding to nothing at the moment.

I just don't see how this contract model is sustainable all it takes bad luck with injuries you could have 3-4 out with long term injuries or injury prone players. All of a sudden you have a massive wage bill tied up in injured players. Payoffs will be extraordinary to get rid of deadwood.

Will we see other clubs move to this contract model? It's making it hard to compete for players in the market when they have a guaranteed massive contract sitting in front of them. We will likely not get Lavia if he has an 8 year contract option.

Just wondering what our scouting team is at? why can't we find the caicedos like when Burnley find them at a knockdown price and.develop them instead of trying to pay top of the market price where we obviously cannot compete.
