  1. double post
  2. I agree. Im fine with him signing players he know, but only if they are good and needed. I like Borini`s signing, but have to admit Im not excited about the names thar are linked to us. I know its just rumors right now, but even the rumors arent inspiring atm.Dempsey,Walcott,Allen are all decent players, but I really wish we aim higher, and stop looking at the EPL for players as its really s*** market for buyers.
  3. its not like he is selling Suarez you know.. Andy has potential and I like him, but there is a reason top teams arent linked with him when we are looking to sell and would probably settle for 15m..
  4. Again..
  5. according to wikipedia he was with chelsea since 2007.
  6. He joined them at 16.
  7. I understand he does. spent 3 years in england before turning 21. am I wrong?
  8. I read that Holtby, that barret said we are interested in, is in his last year of his contract and he said that he isnt sure he will sign a new one and his dream is to play in england.
  9. its either we are after him and he us denying it so it wont hurt negotiations, or we really arent after him. If he didnt know i think he would just reply that he doesnt know who the transfer targets are. damn, just saw its from may.
  10. I agree, but I think we desperately lack creativity and skill on the ball. If he is intended to play not as the striker, then again we buy a new player to a position that creativity and ability on the ball are very important attributes that he lacks.
  11. From what i have seen (a lot of youtube) and what I read about him, I really hope he is coming to play as a striker and not as an inside forward or whatever you wanna call it. He isnt very fast (although seems to have a decent pace), and doesnt seem skillful. But he does seem to have great movement and anticipation and the lucky touch infront of goal (I mean that he seems like the player that even if he miskicks the ball, it still ends up going in).
  12. He did say it according to Ben Smith.
  13. I will give him a chance just like I give every player we sign. And, I believe he will be a good signing based on what I read on him. But from what Brendan said, I understand this will be the most exciting player we sign, and I dont think it will be enough. Im not knocking this signing,or the manager whom Im impressed with so far (although its mostly from how he talks, and thats the easy part of the job). But if this player will be the top signing we make this summer, its not enough. we are severly lacking in pace and creativity.to my understanding, Borini doesnt really solve these issues.
  14. he said "incredibly exciting". and as I said i like this signing and I will give him a chance. But it is a disappointment for me.
  15. Im going by posters description of him. good player, poacher, decent pace. "incredibly exciting" is someone full of ability.Pace, dribbling ability, very creative.. Again, I like what I hear about this player, but if this is THE exciting player we are signing, Im affraid its not enough.
  16. No.And Im not against his signing at all. But I wouldnt use this term for him. I was hoping for a top top talent because of this phrase. He may very well be a good player for us, but that phrase makes me think Brendan sees him as a great player so I assume our other signing wont be much better. We need atleast two top attacking players if we are hoping for 4th place.
  17. according to ben smith this is the player brendan talked about as the "incredibly exciting"... Im sorry, but he really isnt and if this is Brendans idea of "incredibly exciting" then Im worried.
  18. BBC Sport ‏@BBCSport Roma forward Fabio Borini is expected to become Brendan Rodgers' first signing as Liverpool manager #bbcfootball
  19. I dont think it would be him also. They bought him for 35m a year ago and he had an excellent season. He would cost a bomb.
  20. Buy out clause is nonesense. It doesnt mean the club wont sell for less.It just means they have to accept an offer of the same value. Clubs usually set this clause to show how much they appreciate the player.
  21. fair enough. I sill hope we sign a better player then those 3. wouldnt mind them, but I think we need atleast another attacker,a brilliant one.
  22. You find Borini exciting? Good signing and a very good player perhaps, but I wouldnt call him very exciting. nor would I call Granero that.
  23. I doubt it. We know Chelsea offered something like 20m and it was rejected.Leverkusen didnt say it wasnt enough as you would assume they would if they were wiiling to sell in order to stard a "bidding war". and although a good player, I wouldnt call him very exciting. to me a very exciting player is an attacking wizard or an exlosive striker. But who knows what Brendan`s idea of a very exciting player is.
  24. A friend of a friend works at sky and says we had a bid for Granero rejected, but we tried again and it should be done soon. Pinch of salt and everything, Im just passing what I heard.
  25. I dont see anyone paying us even 15m this summer..
