  1. How can they afford the upkeep of that tin can? Or are they just saying/saving it for now, only to flip flop on it in about three weeks?
  2. Whom - Tony, Paulie Walnuts and Silvio? Could turn out to be the Bobby Baccalà Santa Claus Experience quickly.
  3. Seriously thou?
  4. That would be incredible. But how would we line up with him, would he play as a striker for us? As a false 9?
  5. Yeah, the last bit is absurd.
  6. Read somewhere (think it was somebody billed as Slots footballing mentor in Holland) that he "surely will" want to evolve the team for next season to keep possession in the opponent's half for 90 minutes, and that for this season he's adapted to what he has inherited squad and style wise. It has been widely reported that Slot's obsessive with the Guardiola style of play, (naturally with his own way of doing it) so the expectation is that we will see perhaps a markedly different approach for next year. What that means regarding the balance of incoming players is still anyone's guess. The big questions for me are who will fit the bill as a new striker and who out of the likes of Jota, Elliott, Jones and Chiesa will be kept or improved on and which player Slot deems can be better used in a different set up. The second question is whether we are in for a DM to allow both fullbacks being high up in possession. What I most miss, apart from a proper striker, is a midfielder who can do the Fabinho and Alonso stuff at the same time.
  7. How many informations does one need on a release clause?
  8. Yeah. But this the PL and English tax right there.
  9. Haven't seen loads of him this season, but he has been solid to very good every time, in a team that will finish 3rd. While I rate him, he's more of a strong box-to-box than a defensive mf, similar in role to Gravenberch. Ricci, whom I mentioned above, is more of the player profile that we currently don't have. Rovella at Lazio is even better I think, but he has reportedly signed a permanent deal with them, having been on a two-year loan from Juve. Been perhaps the best in business in the league. Reported €50 mil release clause.
  10. Yeah, expect that one to be dead from our side, but Arteta et al will surely call themselves winners in the inaugural Zubimendi Silly Season Cup. But if we're looking to sign a player to complement our midfielders, as an upgrade in the Endo/Bacjetic department, I'd love to see the club go for Samuele Ricci from Torino. A rising star who has outgrown his current club and should be moving on this summer, probably without breaking the bank either. Press proof, dictator of game tempo, great passer and presser. Comparisons to Pirlo and Verratti been made.
  11. Good lad, always liked him. A small, cubic powerhouse. Like these Small Modular Reactors they're trying to build everywhere now.
  12. Yeah, dirty little fücker, him. Every time I see Arsenal play he's up to something s***ty, often with needlessly dirty tackles. And now with the dives too. The lad has had a quick rise to the top echelon of my most hated players in the league.
  13. Before Alonso came to Leverkusen Frimpong was played as a more traditional RB. I don’t know how good he was at it back then, nor how well he’d (want to) do it now thou.
  14. I’d only let Diaz go if we got someone considerably better and I really like Diaz. But considering his contract length and low pay check I think the club need to make a choice this summer.
  15. I’d have Acerbi for Cptn Haddock rather than KdB
  16. Shame his psyche was made by the same company that did the bodywork on Sturridge and the tenacity of Naby, Scarpyarp Bargins & Sons
  17. This will turn out to be such a s*** show, won’t it?
  18. Mourinho is funny, if hateful. Our friend Mikel is just a deluded daft with gleaming mad eyes.
  19. With Zubimendi coming in watch Arteta playing Partey and Merino on top in a 442 next season.
  20. Didn’t he dry up as a source before that? Thought he had an inside line to somebody at the Houllier set up, with the trail going cold after he left. Or was it later, after Benitez left? That’s never Wharton thou in that vid.
  21. Is it frosty thou? Think it's quite alright, not as formulaically flowery as they tend to be, always wishing anybody "the very best in the future".
  22. Absolutely think he will be cool as a polar bear in a sauna, also in the face of adversity!
  23. How about that talented young RB of theirs, just for laughs? But no, I don't think they want to pay anything for releasing him for the early rounds. More likely he joins them for the business end of the competition, no?
