TBH I don't think his best position is wide right. Doesn't have the pace, and his crosses are extremely inconsistent. Aside from that matchwinning cross at Stoke, there were a dozen or more rubbish crosses and balls in between I like him in the middle, maybe in more advanced areas where he's allowed to ghost in late in the box (which he seems to be alright at doing), and able to just play the ball on quick to the likes of Suarez which he's pretty good at doing. I don't think there's any future in the system of Adam sitting deep and spraying balls wide to the likes of Downing or Kuyt/Henderson. Downing isn't consistent enough with the supply, and Adam isn't consistent enough with those good balls. It also doesn't utilize Suarez's strengths and if we aren't gonna get enough wide supplies to Carroll, then he's practically a waste of a player on the pitch
