  1. But you tend to get a mortgage when you don't have the initial capital. As Post Kuytal Glow has pointed out if you have as much money as DIC have then you don't need a mortgage. The only time you do it is if you have more to gain from not using the cash. I think there is more for them to gain from using cash rather than debt for the stadium.
  2. I don't think he is. There isn't really a financial reason to fund an investment like this by debt. If they finance it by equity there would be a saving of upto £125m (approx £90m after tax savings), over the life of any loans, in interest. Add into that the repayment of capital.
  3. morgan peddling the bulls*** debt figure again
  4. The debt did actually rise slightly, however this is entirely attributable to the issues with Reebok. They owe us £7m (and rising). Had they just paid the money on time the clubs net debt would have stood at just £10m. The amount was included as a trade debtor which, as you'll probably know, isn't included in the net debt figure (same as trade creditors). The money from reebok would have cleared the clubs overdraft.
  5. I gave up when it trotted out the old "debt-laden" bit like all other rubbish reports. $157m of bank debt? Learn to read you f-ing idiots. (journalists that is)

You mean needs 10 attempts to get his aim and then be lauded for all eternity because one finally went in?

He didn't actually start against fulham
  8. Got to say that bit is funny as. Especially considering DICs CEO was at the game today. The bit that craked me up though was the suggestion that Everton (with no money, just gone back into technical insolvency, and no planning permission) are apparently ahead of us in the race to get a new stadium.
  9. Just think, by mid january we'll have enough cash for the new stadium Must have been looking down the back of the sofa again. Seriously though, in last few weeks I have emailed both the independent and telegraph sports editors about their reporting of our debt position, not had a reply off them, but if it has had an effect it can only be good, although it's still showing an incorrect value.
  10. The NWDA haven't actually given any approval for the grant yet. They are still holding out in hope that a shared stadium will go ahead.
  11. It runs out end of the season.
  12. It was only the sponsorship deals that started this season that have really made ours look small in comparison. Until this round of deals we were only behind the mancs and chelsea for shirt deal (in england). As for european shirt sponsorship, well considering juventus sold their own tv rights they tend to get a fair bit more tv exposure than we do.
  13. depends if they've been on the carlsberg or not
  14. £113k per week? Or to put it simply, 10% of the total wage bill of the club, I somehow doubt it.
  15. might be able to get a great discount for cup finals.
  16. I agree, in fact I don't think they will even need to. Presently the club brings in about £25m in operating cashflows each year when in european cup action. From next season that will increase by atleast £15m with the new tv deal and prospect of new sponsorship deal, which could push it to £25m higher. When the new stadium opens we'll be looking at potentially anwhere from £25m to £40m per season more there. In a couple of years the club could, in theory, be looking at free cashflows well in excess of £70m, helped greatly because there looks to be no debt involved with the new stadium. By having no debt there it saves upto £20m per season. That's just short of our present annual transfer budget.
  17. £45m over 15 years. If they buy Moores' 51% they will have to put a bid in for the full share capital. Whether they get it is another matter. I think they will easily get granada's 9.9%, while they'll probably bring lfc.tv to full ownership.
  18. f*** that, where's alves
  19. Think about things this way guys. If the new stadium is paid for via investment rather than loans then it will free up upto £20m per year in cash. Add that to the £15m extra a season from the next tv deal and the potential extra revenue from the next shirt sponsorship and kit deals and the club will be laughing all the way to the bank as the most self sustaining club in england, and debt free (potentially). If it all goes ahead that is.
  20. Nice to see it contradict itself. On the bright side if it does go ahead we might be able to get good deals on hotel rooms for finals. Just show your fan card and get a discount
  21. about 3 weeks after a relevant announcement is made usually. Latest one can be held is toward back end of february (agm)
  22. It's a long running (poor) joke. There have been loads of posts in the past saying something will be announced on a thursday.
  23. Would have been if christmas was in september
  24. The council wouldn't be allowed to pass any info on as there would likely be a confidentiallity agreement in place until everything was signed off. If there isn't a legal requirement then there's no need to say anything, especially to an organisation who continually go to the press to try and get a groundshare in the agenda.
  25. The club had to prove to the objective 1 committee that funding was in place in order for the european money to be secured. The money has been secured which suggests proof has been given. a few months ago the Daily Post ran a story saying that the stadium project was about to collapse because the club did not have funding, later that day the Echo, Chris Bascombe, ran a story that completely contradicted the Daily Posts claims. I know which I will believe, mainly because bascombe actually talks to people within LFC.
