  1. Should have been the main priority - keep it to 1-0 and then regroup at half time. We just seem to struggle to defend as a team on a consistent basis.
  2. Took Salah off to keep him fresh for Wednesday I reckon. At the same time admitted this game was lost.
  3. I heard Phil pulled all the feathers off his budgie and made it walk the plank into the carp infested pool at the bottom of his garden while we were beating Arsenal.
  4. I like the ethos they espouse in that list. Liverpool do have something similar which they show to all new employees and potential partners, if memory serves it comes under 5 main headings, but for whatever reason I have never seen them share it with the fan base. This is where they fall down and should be something that we are included in if they want to eliminate the growing "them and us" mentality that is setting in.
  5. Fully agree the message needs to be authentic and backed up by action or it does just become empty words.
  6. How well he is doing it is another matter and probably part of the learning curve for him, but I do think he is trying to address the balance between absent landlords (for which FSG are constantly criticised) and a leadership team that engages with the fan base. From what I've seen so far, I'd rather have him than Ian Ayre. Think we need to get over the disdain we have for having a more professional and business like mentality on the commercial side of the club. There are plenty of lessons we can learn from the Amazons of the world, and I'm not suggesting they are paragons of virtue who do nothing wrong. We missed the boat with the onset of the Premier League as we didn't have a professional approach to the commercial opportunities it offered. The alternatives are either become the playthings of a billionaire or become the next Leeds, Blackburn, Wolves etc.
  7. We want to be winners, we want to sign the best players, have a bigger stadium and play with the big boys but heaven forbid we try to have a professional outlook on the business side of the football club.
  8. A CEO's role is to articulate the values and culture of an organisation, be it LFC, EA Sports, Amazon or British Airways. How well he does it is certainly up for debate but I don't think he should be criticised for doing so. Also helps if people know where he comes from and who he grew up supporting.
  9. Didn't say he was, but Shankly talked about us being a family so it's a bit rich for people criticising others for talking in the same terms about the club.
  10. Above all, I would like to be remembered as a man who was selfless, who strove and worried so that others could share the glory, and who built up a family of people who could hold their heads up high and say 'We're Liverpool'.
  11. Don't think it matters to some of our fan base what he does. He's a "suit" so therefore he's a gobs***e, pathetic really.
  12. If you are referring to Peter Moore he's a scouser. Don't engage with the fans he's a gobs***e, engages with the fans he's a gobs***e. Can't win really can he.
  13. Offer him a new contract, lower weekly wage in return for a guaranteed release clause. Should help settle him down
  14. Agree with much of this, apart from the lack of paragraphs. Owners are ok, not brilliant but ok. Would rather we didn't buy our way to success, but can't believe there wasn't an alternative to VVD lined up. That won't be down to the owners though.
  15. Ah b****xs, apologies. Balague claiming Barca aren't going to be signing Phil as they've not made a 4th bid is not good news either.
  16. Straw to cling to from Twitter; football writer for BBC Sport Declan Carey CONFIRMED - Van Dijk on his way to Melwood for medical. #LFC #DEADLINEDAY
  17. Thought the Southampton ITK's said VVD had been sent away with his family for a few days to prepare for training on Monday? SSN reporting he's turned up at Southampton's training ground this morning to train with the kids again.
  18. Aer Lingus executive lounge: beer, sandwiches, crisps, cheese and biscuits, wifi
  19. If we can get Tom Heaton in to replace him, I'd be very tempted.
  20. One club's ITK's are going to look a bit silly come the end of the transfer window then.
  21. There's a few murmurs on Twitter that the Lamar deal is agreed but not from anybody that you would bet the mortgage on. From Deschamps point of view he would want any medical done today.
  22. Various people on twitter suggesting AOC is a replacement for Origi rather than Lemar.
  23. Colossal Sports MGT‏ @colossalsportsm 7m7 minutes ago DEAL AGREED!!!! #LIVERPOOL #YNWA #COLOSSAL @LFC The Ox's agency?
