  1. Inter Sporting Lisbon Madrid/Juve Porto if second Bayern/Lyon Villareal versus Panathinaikos Barcelona Juve/Madrid Lyon/Bayern Roma Porto if first Not much in it really, definitely avoiding barca was probably the only real carrot and home second leg.
  2. Inter Sporting Lisbon Madrid/Juve Porto if second Bayern/Lyon Villareal
  3. Lucas has been quality. Really impressive all round, everyone's done well. Keane can take a few positives from the second half.
  4. Every game has been the biggest but I really feel that this game absolutely cements the whole season. We have to score before halftime before a real nervousness that has Benitez has spoken about becomes endemic
  5. The "Ballon d'Or" (French for "Golden Ball," often referred to as the European Footballer of the Year award) is an association football award. Presented since 1956 by the French football magazine France Football, it is awarded to the player considered to have performed best over the previous year; the inaugural winner was Blackpool player Stanley Matthews. The current holder of the award, as selected in 2007, is Milan's Kaka.[1] Prior to 2007, the player had to be a member of a club based within UEFA's jurisdiction in order to qualify for selection; and until 1995 a player also had to be of European nationality to be eligible. The 2007 change in rules saw players from Qatar, the United States, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina named on the shortlist alongside those from European clubs.[2][3] Since October 2007, 96 football journalists from around the world have decided the winner from a shortlist of 50 compiled by France Football; prior to this 52 European journalists chose a winner, who needed to play for a European club.[4] Each voter chooses five players from the list of nominees, and awards them between one and five points. The winner is determined by the total number of points; players who finish second and third in the voting are awarded silver and bronze medals.[3]

  17. Outstanding effort from Kuyt, although he was one of the more culpable players for their first goal, got badly out of position when there was a two on two at the edge of the box, i dont know where he was moving to, it was schoolboy stuff.
  18. He got a good kick from materazzi but came straight back on after getting some attention and he was fine for at least another 10 mins before being substituted at halftime
  19. Had spains best chance, good strike with his left, well saved. Materazzi is kicking him around the place, up-ended him at one stage...GET HIM OFF. Second half starting now, think he's been subbed, he has, nice one!
  20. My mistake that would have us winning it on goal diff over chelsea then, yeah i'd take that!

    Hicks:

Exactly, we were only privy to certain info. Regardless of DIC's 7 year plan, no matter who bought the club was doing it for one reason and one reason only, to make a return. At least DIC seemed to have the neccessary capital to realise that return as opposed to these two bluffers.
