Suppose the difference is that Rafa never more or less actively tried to flog Mascherano. Another positive with the Masch and Pepe situations is that they seem to want to commit regardless of Rafa being at the club or not, with all the talk about him leaving. Could be of course that they have inside knowledge that Rafa in fact will remain here.
