I'm of a mind that says you don't let the players dictate the shape of the club. They play football - that's what they're overpaid for. Even without Gerrard and Torres who have made little difference to this campaign so far, with Rafa in charge we would not be so low - his worst time at Liverpool was still a lot better than this - in terms of play, points, goals for, goals against - the lot - much of the time without an injured Gerrard or Torres or both. Matt - you would be better than Roy.

What makes you thing he's looking for a challenge? Mourinho has a record for going for as close to 'dead cert' as he can get.

Broughton has said that Roy is on a deal that would let a new owner lose him without it costing a fortune if they saw fit. They won't need to pay a three year contract off. The stunning thing is Roy thinks it would be a sad day for football and LFC if he got sacked - talk about misjudging it.
