  1. Do you think so ? I think he has been a fair ride, this is his fourth season you know.
  2. There was almost identical threads all over the forums when houlliers reign was coming to an end. He has lost the players by the look of it, just like houllier did in the end. The players either dont beleive in what he is doing or they are not playing for him because they dont think he will even be here next season. We are playing awful I am getting an awful sense of De-javu from houlliers last season
  3. The real crime in all of this was that moores sold the club in the first place IMO, forget hicks, the long term damage was done the day we sold the club, whether that be to DIC, Kraft or the current owners Why did he do that 1) Pressure from the fans for us to compete with Chelsea and Utd now in the transfer market 2) He was advised by his chief executive and apparent financial expert Rick Parry that it was a good idea If we could have borrowed the money for the new staduim and kept moores in charge we would have continued for another three years only being able to spend £20 odd million a summer. But then we would have only had the staduim debt and all the extra income from the new ground would have gone back into the club, we would have been in a brilliant position with 71,000 paying punters and no shareholders or owners huge interest fees to pay like Utd have now and we have now. We would have become UK footballs financial powerhouse in four years with a huge amount of revenue but we sold out the long term for the short term IMO and that is mine, yours and everyone of our faults who wanted us to compete NOW in the transfer market
  4. Thats not actually true Read the statement again on the official site about the make up of the new loan, the £105 million is for work to start on the new ground, future transfers and working capital Not previous transfers
  5. yes but sutty, come on lad... They dont understand the british press or football... They are learning, give them a chance eh
  6. OMG EVERYBODY WHO BUYS A BUSINESS DOES EXACTLY THE SAME They dont f'ckin buy it and then sit back, pay the money off they bought it with themselves and not take any money out Are you lot kidding me here or what As for firesales etc your talking b'ollocks and you are scaremongering which is what most of you are doing Since they have been here they have backed the manager with a huge amount of money AND they have invested more in a better and bigger staduim.... Firesale my ass, stop scaremongering will yeh F'ckin money they have spent on players and your still f'ckin moaning, jesus....
  7. What a silly question Do we have parry bowl or a cracking 71,000 seater staduim Do we have torres or fowler F'ckin kidding me arent yeh. 71,000 reasons and then another £70,000,000 reaso I can give yeh why where better off They are doing exactly what they where brought in to do, investing in players AND building a f'ckin staduim, how they pay for this is their business. I dont give a f'ck Jesus, you would think they had just spent f'ck all, not £70 million..... And they had downsized the parry bowl not upsized it
  8. The business model was good enough to convince two banks to lend them £350 million during a so called credit crunch so suffice to say I think it is a sound one dont you As for us not buying any players while we are paying ineterest - we have been paying interest since they day they took over the club, they borrowed £230 million for that remember..... Has this stopped us buying players ? £70 million reasons it hasnt.... F'ckin care mongering b'ollocks on this thread. None of you have a f'ckin clue what the business model is, do you think gillet and hicks would attempt to borrow so much money and more importantly the banks would give them it if it wasnt a sustainable model. We where ALWAYS going to be in a position where we needed to borrow while we waited for the new staduim to get built in order to compete. We are now competing ffs what do you want There are NO more abramovichs out there mate, only hicks, glazer, gillette and the rest. They are INVESTERS they put money in to make a PROFIT right where is that brick wall so I can bang my f'ckin head again
  9. matty: thick as f'ck or just plain deluded Lets have another heated debate but I think its the former without a shadow of a doubt.... DIC own travelodge (£675 million) and the tussauds group (£800 million) Do you think the two companies pay a dividend to DIC every year or not ? Do you think they just got that money from under the sheiks matress or they borrowed it and as such are paying interest on it ? Come on oustound me with your common sense for once
  10. Right - Tell the truth yeh gang of whinging tarts 1) Who, when the yanks come in last year did NOT know they borrowed money to pay for Liverpool ? EVERYONE KNEW THEY DID 2) Who thinks DIC were not going to borrow money to pay for Liverpool. EVERYONE KNOWS THEY WHERE 3) Who thinks as investors DIC and the yanks will want Liverpool to earn money to pay that back ? EVERYONE KNOWS THEY WILL 4) What has changed from last year ? Jesus lads, your having a laugh aren't you, did none of you realise this last year like ???? Did you just think uncle george and tom where donating £230 million to the club because the kop sang them a few songs. Jesus wept - why are you all whining now, why didn't ONE of you bring this up last year when EXACTLY the same situaton was in place. WHY are you putting DIC banners up when they will do EXACTLY the same. I despair, honestly I do. If you bought a busines, say a little cafe in anfield for £7,000. You got a bank loan for the money and then took money out of the takings to pay it back, what would you say to one of the punters if they said "Eh, what are you doing taking money out of the takings" what would you say ? How many of you who own businesses have NOT raised finance for that business and DO NOT take money out of the business to pay that finance !!!!! Brick wall head bang Brick wall head bang Brick wall head bang Brick wall head bang
  11. Always thought he was a cracking little player myself, looks like he is on his way to portsmouth Better than Kuyt IMO I remember the champions league run, he was probably the most important player for us over all the rounds as he played on his own in every game up front. Against Juventus at home he ran them ragged Could be absolutely outstanding on his day.... Problem was his day didnt happen enough. I would have liked to see rafa take him under his wing and develop his game a bit instead of spending £10 on a defensive midfielder to play up front like he did with kuyt The really, really good or really, really promising players have games where the are simply unplayable, baros had several of them which proved he could have been a cracker IMO
  12. Every question negative again Lets have a survey containing entirely negative questions again and then tell the world this is the viewpoint of liverpool fans and lets angle it with the intention of causing as much negative public press coverage as possible by adding the boycotting of other companies to it in order to push the agenda of getting the americans out if the club I am boycotting LFCSN for being biased and not allowing freedom of speech.... You lot have an agenda to get rid of the americans and you are creating questions with the sole intention of helping that agenda
  13. Dont forget, uncle roy had a rebuilding job on his hand every big as houllier or benitez had He inheritted sounesses liverpool which was a f'ckin mess. I think it is unfair to simply write off what he did at Liverpool, he did well in the league
  14. over FOUR years.....
  15. Has anyone got a copy of robbies book to hand, someone go and find the bit where he mentions the financial backing evans got and talks about it compared to houllier listing all the players they blocked him buying I cant remember the exact details, I read it last october on holiday. Especially in his last eighteen months, apparently they where blocking every request he made etc
  16. eh according to tom he has
  17. Read fowlers book they blocked him for sherringham saying he was to old, he got blocked for stam as well and desailly. I cant remember the exact list of players, as I say robbie lists them all in his book I am sure someone will correct me on the list I am not saying evans was not backed, I am saying he was not backed like the backed houllier. No way near.
  18. Come on sutty thats rubbish He rebuilt the attack and midfield from scratch after losing rushy to give us that fanstastic team Houghton right, mcmahon given a chance in the middle, whelan played as a holding midfielder and barnes left and then beardsley and aldrige up front If that is not a major overhaul what is What I meant about gerrard and carragher was dalglish did not have any world class lads that had come through the system and he still built that side
  19. Evans 94-95 4th 15 points off champions 95-96 3rd 11 points off champions 96-97 4th 7 points off champions 97-98 4th 13 points off champions 98-99 7th 25 points off champions - the mad duel manager experiment Houllier 99-00 4th 24 points off champions 00-01 3rd 11 points off champions 01-02 2nd 7 points off champions and ahead of Man utd 02-03 5th 19 points off champons 03-04 4th 30 points off champions Benitez 04-05 5th 37 points off champions 05-06 3rd 9 points off champions 06-07 3rd 21 points off champions 07-08 currently 5th 14 points off leaders with a game in hand Who would argue that evans had by the far the best league record out of benitez, houllier and evans and had by the far the least financial backing to
  20. Better in terms of what In terms of league positions - distance to top of league etc in terms of points every season he is not is he is not better than either houllier or evans but where has an absolutely amazing record is in the European cup where is untouchable to be frank, maybe paisley apart. And if he surpasses this Liverpool 85/86 Champions + FA cup 86/87 Second in the league 87/99 Champions 88/89 FA Cup and second in the league 89/90 Champions 90/92 Second in the league Blackburn 93/94 Second the in the league 94/95 Champions 93/94 Second and creates a team as good as the Liverpool 87-90 one with NO gerrards and NO carraghers from the youth system then we will all be happy eh and then you can mention him in the same breath as one of the greatest managers the game has ever seen Benitez gave us all the greatest night of our lives and I dont think we should ever forget that, we also had a very good league season the one before last when momo and alonso played central and gerrard played wide right and went on two seperate runs of 10+ games winning every game. I am still undecided, I have my doubts like we all do but I would not even consider replacing him untill at least the season after this
  21. Do you think that the off the field stuff has had a major impact on team performances, team selections, tactics etc ? I think it has had an impact, not as major as you suggest thought IMO. I agree about the confidence thing and I agree about us playing like a bunch of strangers etc And I dont think people are judging him on this season are they, this is his fourth season at Liverpool why is his team playomhg like a bunch of strangers, unable to pass a ball in his fourth season. Is that the off the field stuff or is that the manager ?
  22. And your point is ? Are you on the right thread ?
  23. Rafa is the best manager we've has since kenny, thats a bold statement. Roy Evans always gets treated unfairly when talking about past Liverpool managers in my opinion. We played great football under evans and he had a better league record than benitez to be fair - he didnt get a chance to play in the champions league and no one is saying he would have won it but to simply dimiss his reign is wrong If he had been given the financial backing that houllier and benitez where I wonder sometimes what he could have done, have you read fowlers book ? He speaks about this very issue and talks about the players Evans was blocked from signing by the board. In terms of the league, rafa's record is not even as good as houlliers is it, never mind evans
  24. The echo saturday said we may be in for aimar
  25. Nah its deeper than that, there are loads now who dont think he is the right man for the job We have a curry night in our family for european games, we never go the european games instead we all visit each others house and watch it on telly with the host cooking a curry. Me, my two cousins and my uncle. My uncle thinks he should be sacked and has completely lost faith in him, one of my cousins thinks he is the best thing since sliced bread and should be given a five year contract with me and the other cousin sat on the fence wanting to see what happens at the end this season and next season. Amongst the lads I go the match with the split is about the same, if not more towards him going at the end of this season dependent on league position But at the actual game he gots almost total backing
