    Agreed, guess I’m hoping the post-Pep era turns into the poison chalice it’s been for Utd since Ferguson. Kompany rumoured to be back, previous expertise being at Burnley and a cushy role at Bayern. Squad absolutely nowhere near the class it was etc. long shot I know.

    Wishful thinking I know, in 2006 there was still a route to the UEFA cup which still had an element of prestige compared to now. I think the manager leaving and a sure exodus of some stars could have a huge effect, their squad is nothing compared to what Rogers & Klopp had to contend with, could and should get real ugly for them even if it only 46 games and a cup run in the second tier.

    Hopefully it’ll be worse than the Juve exodus when only players in the twilight of their careers, with ties and commitment to the club City can only dream of, hang on. Managers off and Haaland and a few others sure to follow.
