NO wrong Gerrard played over 75% of his games under Houllier in the middle!!!

And taking Boro' nowhere makes for a good England manager?? think not. So wheen Houllier only played Gerrard in the middle you all were all saying "no" play him on the right........................i think not!!!!!! I agree we are not Gerrard FC. But play him where he can influance a game to the best of his ability simple as that!! I tell you what lets play Carra there next shall we...................let him fit in to the system!!

I said LB not LM!!! Ronaldinho plays in a team that plays flowing, passing football and he joins the attack at every opportunity. In our team Gerrard on the right is totally wasted!! We play long ball football away from home most of the time and Gerrard on the right hardly touches it at least in the middle he bosses games!!! So Mcbain answer me 1 question and 1 question only....... Is Bolo Zenden a better CM player than Steven Gerrard!!!!!!

Please name me 10 or even 5 better midfielders better than Gerrard!!!! So if he's not that good I'm sure you'd be willing to sell him and keep Zenden in the middle.... get a grip FFS!!! Steven Gerrard is one of the best players in the world and if you offered all the managers in World football to sign 1 player every single one of them would pick Steven Gerrard!!!!!!!!! Gerrard has hardly played in the middle for over 6 months, so when we are 2-0 down and losing a game he's meant to go in the middle and make everything great for us after playing so long on the right!!!!!

He's played CM twice from the start and in both games we won!! but regardless of that would you play Ronaldinho @ LB? No you wouldn't because you play your best player in his best position! I can half-stomach playing Gerrard out wide when Momo and Xabi are in the middle but if anyone on here can honestly say that Zenden is a better Centre Midfielder than Gerrard I really will stop posting on here!

I don't care..... you play your best player in his best position and our best player is Steven Gerrard and his best position is CM. The amount of times he had to come inside today to try and get involved in the game because he wasn't getting the ball was unbelievable!!!! Would Wenger honestly start a game with Henry on the left wing??? No he wouldn't because Henry is their best player and his best position is up-front so you play him there!! If all our right wingers are journeymen why did we pay £6.8m for a journeyman then?

Why does Rafa insist on playing Gerrard out of the centre? I'm not blaming it for today's result as I think the negative tactics caused that...... But why can one of the worlds best if not the worlds best Centre Midfielder be constantly played out of position regardless of the circumstances. Gerrard is now behind Alonso, Momo and Zenden for the CM spot and to me he is the best CM player we've got if not the best in Europe, so why does Rafa insist on not playing him in the centre regardless of cirumstances! As much as I hate to say it, it reminds of the GH days of "I've made a decision and I'll stick to that decision no matter what". Let's get one of the WORLDS best CM's back in the centre and build the team around him before it's too late for him and us!!!!

Totally agree, a very well made post put across very well. Especially after todays performance!! I too had to look and listen to Rafa after the game.....Im sure i heard GH in there some where. I never thought id be saying this of the man but he is slowly starting to baffle me with his comments.

Look i have suppoeted this club for 36 years and will do so till the day i die. Alll im giving is my point of view, like you are giving yours, and they are different. Yes im happy with the 3 points but not the performance. we need to improve our game that's all wether in th CL or the prem. And yes i did get of my chair.......... to get a can at half time

You mean that people cant disagree with you and make thier own points of view (thats what the forums are for) All im trying to say was yes we won but the performance was not good, against a team who are not good at all, and havent won in thier last 10 CL games.And we made it hard work and again living dangerously in the last 5/10 mins.

Oh come on .............it was awfull, ok yes we won but god they were worse than us, this team hasn't won their last 10 CL games so lets be realistic here. agree, but not about Baros. Ok so please tell me what got u off your seat tonight then. We totelly lacked any real guile and coudnt string 2 passes together still looked dogey at the back. As people have said good result but not a good performance which we cant ignore.
