That's what the wiki (yes I know) for the final says; Wiki

The big MANCHESTER UNITED sign across the top of the stadium had most of the letters blacked out, except for the 4th letter of Manchester, and the 3 of the first 4 from United. It's didn't last long but someone sent me a photo they snapped with the lads posing outside wearing LFC shirts giving it the big thumbs up

Last time I was there on a work thing I was able to wander out to the edge of the pitch, just by the corner flag, and managed to let loose a massive yocker onto the pitch. Nothing a visiting player doesn't do 20 times during a game but somehow it felt very satisfying, childish or not. But if you can tamper with the Old Trafford sign like the scouse electricians did a few years back, now that's really worth doing

I tried to get a quick version of "A Tax, A Tax, atax atax atax" going but being in the Lower Centenary I should have known better

I've not seen it mentioned but I've just noticed he didn't make the CL squad. Understandably seeing how on paper (if not grass) Aurelio and Dossena are ahead of him but a pity when there are other reserve lads, who haven't a chance of a game, included in the squad to meet the 'Homegrown' quota. I thought he'd been training with us for long enough to meet the criteria?

Indie - Spurs offer lennon for keane Interesting offer. The article says they're offering either Lennon or Jenas for Keane and would write off the approx 11m we still owe, effectively valuing Lennon at 9m. Given the overpricing of English players that doesn't sound too bad an offer. Lennon's not been great this season but has talent and might rise to a new challange. Might be worth a go and able to offer us a bit more than Kuyt on the right wing?

120GBP flights and more or less the same again for a quite decent hotel. Fly out wednesday back friday.
-
6 of us booked flights and hotel a couple of weeks ago. If (by some fluke) Liverpool don't make it then we're having a lads trip to see the Circus Maximus etc and will stay away from the Olympic stadium.

I couldn't agree more, even though I think I understand why people are being more negative it doesn't mean I agree with it. At the Fulham game I told someone to stop whining - they looked at me like I'd just beamed down from outer space.
-
It's precisely because we've started well that people are being more negative as they're just waiting for us to mess it up like we have in each of the last 18 years (like aka Dus said). As the season goes on, the tension that this could be finally our year will probably make it get worse. Everyone should be happy by May though - one way or another!

I think a lot of the pessimism I hear, not just on fora but in the pub and at the match (I'm not talking about the booing idiots), is in large down to the amount of time since we've last won the league. We've been left deflated so many times a lot of people are just waiting for a bad patch to come along and finish the season for us - because for years that's what's always happened. They're just getting their retaliation in first to insulate themselves from the pain they're expecting and that way they can say "I know we'd blow it so I'm not bothered", when in fact they'd be as gutted as the next fan. It's a lot easier (though wrong) to cope with the season that way than to get your hopes up again and come crashing down by December or whenever. It seems to be more the older fans that are acting and thinking this way, I suppose because we remember how good it was when we did win the league - the younger fans don't know it and only have 2005 to go by which, for me anyway, gave a different kind of feeling than grinding out a league trophy. I'm not sure what the best cure is for this but I suspect it is probably best to poke them in the ribs and to tell them to man up and show a bit of faith.

The Impending Summer, George Gillett and Fancard Farce
impware replied to Spirit Of Shankly 's topic in Liverpool FC
I've been on the ST waiting list since 1996 and haven't got a fancard (I do have a ST in someone else's name but would prefer to go legit, esp. as he'll want it back one day). This bit of the above worries me. Will I (and I'm sure loads like me) lose my place on the list? Will I be given the chance to keep it as long as I fork out 29 quid a year until 2050 when the new stadium is finally built? -
Possibly the worst first post I've ever seen on a Liverpool forum.

It's not just you, I feel the same way. I can't understand the lifelong reds I meet who aren't that bothered about the long term and don't get that the whole future path of the club rests on what happens over the next couple of weeks.
-
Barcelona seem to manage OK don't they? If by nonsense you mean trying to defend our club from a profiteer who in his own words has admitted that winning isn't important, then I think I'll carry on with it, thank you very much. What part of Texas are you from anyway?
-
Count me and my ST in. The only thing G&H understand is money and we have to demonstrate that we are serious about hurting them financially. It's more important to fight for the long term future of the club that worry about not supporting the team for 1 game. If we don't do something now then in a few years there won't be much of a team left to support.

blue b******s new stadium

According to Radio Merseyside, the bs have voted 60:40 in favour of ceding the city to us. -
Sorry, imprecise language. It's the LFC channel, showing all our prem games after midnight on the day of the game. This LFC channel is only available (I've read it again to check) via subscribing to the Setanta package on either cable or Sky. The topup tv deal on freeview will not carry LFC.tv, it is just for Setanta Sports 1 which will show their 1/3 portion of the premiership live games, of which there have only been 3 of ours announced so far before chrimbo. Look at the Celtic and Rangers tv websites to see how ours will work. To quote Celtictv.info "Celtic TV can be viewed on the Sky, Ntl and Telewest viewing platforms. A Sky customer can only view Celtic TV by subscribing to the Setanta Sports Pack."
-
But beware that Top-up tv on freeview will only give you Setanta 1 - fine for the prem games but you dont get all the other channels such as Celtic, Rangers and I assume that it will be the same (from September) for LFC.tv If you want the LFC channel you'll need a Sky or Cable deal - not freeview.
-
Sky+ is now free on any sky package, I've just got it installed on the £15/month minimum package just to get Setanta and the LFC channel. For the Sky games I'll see the home games at Anfield anyway and the aways either at the pub or 3 hours after the final whistle on Setanta. And the wife happy because she gets Sky+ for watching depressing documentaries and CSI Wherever.

I subscribed online at 3pm today, had it on by 4. Good luck!

Our tickets from Sportops have now arrived. Out Liverpool 01.40 tuesday morning, staying in Loutraki, back Liverpool 19.00 Thursday. Looks like I'll miss the victory parade!
-
Don't be too sure, we're flying monday but they said they were posting ours today. Nothing arrived yet anyway.
-
They said they'd be posted out today. The lad who booked for our lot lives down south and drove to their office to make the original booking as we couldn't get through on the phone. He wanted to drive back today to collect the tickets but they wouldn't let him. All we've got is a receipt with our names, no resort detail or anything! My paranoia is starting to kick in now...
