Milner handed in a transfer request on Thursday and he'll be playing against us tomorrow for Villa, We've apparently been chasing Riera for a couple of weeks and where the f*** is he? This window has just about been the f***ing limit for me, if you look under 'incompetence' in the Oxford English Dictionary you'll see a picture of our board!
-
And they still do - along with RB as well.

"On the contrary, Rafa has commented that he had been following the player while he was at Valencia. He also commented that he wanted to buy him a previous year, but couldn't justify spending the money on a non-priority position. As such, it could be argued that it was a good business, allowing Rafa to bring in a player he admires for no fee. How do you know Rafa wouldn't have signed Degen anyway, even if the money had been there for other players? " Your words or are you arguing against yourself here? Rafa said he had 3 players lined up way back in June, 2 youngsters and one to go straight into the first team; he then went on to explain that when you have good scouts you can find good players on Bosmans and enable you to spend money elsewhere. Who else have we signed on a Bosman? If Degen was signed to provide regular back-up to Arbeloa who is 1st choice at present he still wouldn't be a good signing because he is always injured, made of glass, extremely breakable!
-
I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Masch and Lucas start against Villa.
-
Loong forward to seeing Alonso against Barry and the Villa midfield - if he plays of course. On paper they're just the sort of players he struggles against, mobile, energetic, hard-working.
-
Utter b******s - his record is the absolute definition of an average, injury prone-player if you could be bothered to take your "I love Rafa more than you" headband out of your eyes. I couldn't care less what Degen thinks if he came on here to be honest, when he signed I posted that he was a right sided Aurelio injurywise, which is just what you want in a player 'allegedly' bought to go into the first team isn't it, and so far I'm not looking to be too wrong am I? You don't know what Rafa's true intentions were do you? But if you're suggesting that money was no object and Rafa still signed Degen in front of any other RB out there then you need therapy and Rafa needs sacking! The fans were led to believe that we would be signing players like Alves, Bosingwa, Lahm etc it's natural for them to be disappointed when the long term solution for the important RB position turns out to be a Swiss international who has hardly played for a couple of seasons due to injuries, who is currently injured. Stop being such a f***ing girl!
-
Stop being such a f***ing girl will you! Degen was questioned on here well before SoS put out their statement because his record suggested he was an injury prone, average rightback who was only being signed because he was free! As its turned out we don't actually know if he's average or not because guess what? He's injured Hicks and Gilett promised money for top signings "Snoogy Doogy" - we needed a new right back - Chelsea signed Bosingwa for £16M, Barca signed Alves who Rafa chased for years for £20M+ - we signed Degen who is currently drawing Kewells sick pay. SoS were right to point out yet more lies by G&H. Almost every post of yours on here defends and apologises for Rafa and G&H, why is that exactly - @rse kissing in your DNA?

I wonder if Andy@trumptons attitude would be diferent if he didn't have a season ticket, well I don't really. If we stay at Anfield then we will witness a gradual decline in the club over the next 10 years and everyone with an IQ bigger than their shoe size knows it.
-
And the winner of the years "I'm alright Jack so you lot can f*** off" award goes to Andy - again!
-
Simply no way he can know that Rafa pushed ahead with the Keane deal before Barry was finalised??????? Well going purely on the two facts of Keane being a Liverpool player and Barry announcing he's staying at Villa the evidence seems to suggest he can!
-
You are bang on! Things must be turning round on here because we got roasted alive for suggesting this previously!
-
FFS yourself, Guthrie is better right now than Plessis and we are dealing in the right now! And the point of keeping him is that we apparently didn't need his £3M for a transfer so why let him go and leave ourselves short? If we decided Milner wasn't worth the money then why are we back in for him? This is where you put your intelligent reply "And you know this how?" isn't it?
-
So where's Milner? "Sorry Rick but we don't want to lose Milner" "Fair enough Mike, we'll keep Guthrie then because Masch and Lucas are away at the Olympics and we really need him for cover, if you change your mind give me a ring!"
-
So when's Barry signing then?
-
Its got to do with the fact that they actually wanted Guthrie for their first team so we might have had a bit of leverage with tghem, like every club in the World seems to have when dealing with us. "Hi Rick its Mike Ashley, we weant Guthrie mate how much?" "Hi Mike, yeah I can see why you would - he's a very good player who will go on to play for England and is already proven in the PL! Actually I'm glad you rang because we want Milner so what do you reckon?" The alternative of course is that Riera Downing and Milner are all last minute players because we won't/can't pay for Barry and Rafa being Rafa has to spend every penny he can every window.
-
And yet here we are 4 days to go before the end of the transfer window and none of the above have arrived at Anfield have they? After Rafa publicly stated that he wanted the majority of his business done early this Summer, and after spending all Summer chasing a player we can't afford/don't think is worth the price we were quoted 2 months ago. And still no sign of a plan B back up for Barry, just like the Heinze debacle took us upto January last season to rectify with Skrtel because we left it too late for alternatives and Agger broke his f***ing foot. We have all said for years now, since Rafa has been here and before, that we are weak at both fullback and in the wide midfield areas, here we are in 2008/9 season and guess what? We are still weak at fullback, Dossena might turn out OK but Degen is as was stated on here by many including myself MADE OF GLASS; and the solution to our lack of quality out wide is last minute rushes for Riera who is slightly underwhelming and has already failed once in the PL and Milner who we could have got for half the money 12 months ago, and was derided as rubbish on here at the start of the window when the reported price was only £5M, with the famous quote "Not good enough for Liverpool" bandied about regulary. Well apparently acording to Rafa he might be! You can say what you want about the Yanks - and I do want them out - but I don't have heaps of confidence in Rafa's transfer dealings either, if we wanted Milner 3 weeks ago then why didn't we insist we work out something with the Guthrie deal, Guthrie who is first choice for them by the way!
-
I really don't get it - bearing in mind that I've got a pub and am pretty p1ssed right now - we play the second half of last season using 4-2-3-1 and are really successful, and now we're AGAIN f***ing around buying players who are no real improvement on what we already have, then playing them out of position/trying to alter the team to fit them in!!!!!!! It does my f***ing head in to be honest - £30M+ spent and will again spend the first 6 months trying to find a team/system that suits the players bought in.
-
I'm obviously older than you because I thought about putting him down - Lindsay was good as well - but thought no-one posting in this thread will have a clue who I'm on about!
-
I wouldn't be so sure that anyone brought in will improve the team on the evidence so far this Season.
-
Either Jones RB and Nicol LB or Nicol RB and Kennedy LB for me.
-
Mike quoted Steve Nicol quite possibly the best fullback ever to play for Liverpool - EVER! Babbel was class, a warrior who was lost to illness but a player who played a couple of seasons for us towards the end of his career; Steve Nicol was the best fullback of his generation at either RB or LB and played in a truly great Liverpool side. He would get into any Liverpool side from any year - quite simply Nicol was better than Babbel!
-
I only watched it on TV so I understand that I didn't get as much appreciation of what actually went on out there as if I'd been in the ground - BUT after all the s**** on here about Xabi leaving I tried to pay as much attention to his play as I could. He's MASSIVELY NEGATIVE in everything he does. He's slow moving and on the ball, over 50% of his passes go to either CB's or FB's and he spends half his time in a line with Carra and Skrtel. After weeks of heart-rending eulogies about Alonso we're all now apparently wating for Lucas to get back! I actually rather rate Lucas by the way, but I haven't been using Alonso as an example of everything thats right about the game!
-
So what the f*** has happened to all the Alonso apologists from the last few weeks then? Its gone from Alonso dictates our tempo - which I think he does by the way only not in a positive way - and is the heartbeat of our team, to "I can't wait for LUCAS to come back from the Olympics". That was rank, Keane might as well not have been on the pitch, Aurelio started in the most important game so far instead of Dossena - £26M worth of what exactly? 4-4-2 with nothing out wide apart from a workhorse and Yossi! Rafa buys the players, picks the teams, chooses the tactics etc, etc. Where does the buck stop exactly, with the owners and Parry? And if Barry was his first choice transfer target this Summer why wasn't he bought before Keane?
-
"And hurry up becaus you've only got 4 days left to do it in"?
