  4. Hopefully now he's gone he can show a bit more respect for Roy. No one can blame him for taking his shot at a big club. Unfortunately, as most of us knew at the time, he didn't have the ability for the job. So thanks Roy and good luck in the future.
  5. Shameless plug but a great feature on that match. Ajax v Madrid
  6. Was being facetious. Of course that is ridiculous. I assume what is happening is that we are chasing a permanent manager and if that can't be arranged we will appoint Kenny as caretaker.
  7. I'd have Johnny Borrell in at this stage if it meant Roy was leaving. We've already dithered long enough to miss out on Phil Brown (the Owen Coyle of 2008) and now Big Sam is reportedly on his way to Qatar. More seriously while I'm sure Kenny would be an adequate caretaker I'd rather not have one; surely we're a big enough club that any likely candidate should be prepared to leave his club mid-season.
  8. The English football press is bizarre and regarded as such by football authorities and their counterparts across Europe. Certainly the journos who follow England around have a herd mentality. I've seen them get together at end of player or coach presser and decide the collective angle they'll all pursue. Obviously Hodgson gives good copy and plays the game and the herd would like him to stay where he is.
  9. Who is he? Seems a dubious source.
  10. Rory Smith has a more detailed version of the same story in the Telegraph but again no fresh quotes Telegraph
  11. Not true; they love him here in Switzerland for what he did with the national team.
  12. Agree with this. Really can't see him going quickly now unless we lose the next two.
  13. We'd need Ten Cate from what I've heard of Rijkaard's tenure at Barca.
  14. Don't understand the desire to get Leonardo in. A former player promoted too soon. Even Klinsmann achieved more if we want to go down that route.
  15. Christ, I'm very much in the Roy out camp but the vilification and vitriol on here is going too far. Comparing him to a fictional serial killer now!! I think we should save the "internet terrorism" for the likes of Hicks and Gillet and have a bit more respect for the manager of our club for as long as he is here. Less of the wishing him dead, sweary epithets and Woy references please.
  16. Not a lot to cheer us up among the credible candidates on that list Replacement runners and riders
  17. Logic has point on the 4-4-2. 18 teams at world cup played 4-2-3-1, also the system that had Liverpool playing their best football in aeons. But its more than that. The modern approach is also more about what you do off the ball. Thats where Roy is way behind. No pressing, no getting the ball back where we can do most damage.
  18. Of course it the Scum itself - even better
  19. Just saw this on Twitter - a McKenzie BBC poster intelligently defaced Liar
  20. I'm back at Anfield next week after a long injury break. Is it possible to buy them from the HJC shop prior to the Chelsea game?
