If you're talking about the top layer of fsg then it seems pretty clear they're being told by Edwards and Hughes that this is the guy and he will fix the issues because the issues are not anything to do with him (or those who hired him)

I'm ok with Gakpo staying. If used properly. Basically everything we did last year. He's a really good squad forward and I think happy enough with that. I don't sense he thinks he should be more. He was probably as bemused as anyone when he was given the upgrade this season. Probably just thought, keep quiet and hope nobody realises they forget to replace Diaz
