  1. NYT just nowhttps://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7521009/2026/08/18/liverpool-sale-stake-jeff-bezos-takeover/?unlocked_article_code=1.6VA.Hgku.xI4dZjcatbFF&source=athletic_user_shared_gift_article_copylink&smid=url-share-ta Fenway Sports Group (FSG) sold close to 40 per cent of Liverpool Football Club to the consortium including U.S. billionaire Jeff Bezos. Early suggestions on both sides of the transaction indicated the purchased stake was in the range of approximately 30 per cent to one-third, but The Athletic can reveal the figure is actually much closer to 40 per cent, according to sources with knowledge of the deal, granted anonymity due to the confidentiality of the process. 1892 Holdings, a consortium headed up and led by Amit Bhatia, the former Queens Park Rangers co-owner who will take up the position of vice-chairman at Liverpool, has purchased around a 38 per cent shareholding in Liverpool. That is a much more significant share of the club, while there is also an option for the consortium to buy a controlling stake in the Premier League side, as per the terms of their agreement with FSG, in the next 12 months. The language around the potential for them to buy an even bigger stake, however, does not constitute a formal commitment, so it is only an option that could lead to further investment as opposed to being a requirement.
  2. Ndiaye did indeed look generational in his cameo v Como
  3. How can they increase revenue? Media rights are pretty much outside their control. The only way City increased their revenue was through Qatari related businesses paying way above the odds. Expanding Anfield again?
  4. The two lads not in PSG squad tonight for their Charity Shield. French journos simply say LFC are after them and discussions will resume this week
  5. Madness to let Gakpo go on this evidence Would be 80m to replace him
  6. No way we have Isak Ekitike and Osimhen for one spot especially when Osimhen is on 400k plus in Turkey
  7. She of course being Bavid Dowie’s daughter
  8. Ally McCoist is still pish
  9. Munoz was genuinely exciting Exactly what you want to see in a friendly Natashie Dowie very good and nicely critical on co-comms
  10. I know but he still blew up about 10 seconds early
  11. Always amazes me with the recruitment teams of huge clubs - don’t work at weekends except end of window and can only work on one transfer at a time. Think the overall lack of activity is down to transfermarkt being down too.
  12. Apart from Munoz, this is thin gruel. Even the ref blew up early Not much sign of a high press Hopefully the second team and match will be much better
  13. Linked only by a few tweets from unserious accounts referencing Plettigoal who seems not to have said anything publicly Romano said in June that Juve said that Yeldiz would be going nowhere
  14. Bhatia put f*** all money into QPR stagnating to the heights of lower mid table in the Championship. He’s had to have a whip around daddy in law and his mates to get even a 30% stake. No way him or Bezos or anyone else are bankrolling a Chelsea or City style spending spree any time soon. More likely leveraged buyout with debt loaded onto the club. Thats how private equity and big investment works in 2026.
  15. Duncan Jenkins, Duncan Castles, Duncan Koptalk, Duncan Donuts - they walked so Romano could fly
  16. The Overlap mass debate indeed
  17. Tanzi did indeed say yesterday that we were stalling our bid: Once these two deals are finalised, Paris will still need to manage the potential departures of Bradley Barcola (23 years old, contract until 2028) and Ibrahim Mbaye (18 years old, contract until 2028), while also considering possible new attacking signings. Regarding the first deal, Liverpool has decided to wait in recent days, while planning to return with a new offer in the final ten days of the transfer window. Will find his update from today later
  18. It means are very likely to devrait - a bit of an awkward one to translate from French There are again a lot of references to L’Equipe saying we’re making an offer for Barcola next week but their only mention is in their transfer latest page which is begay hard paywall
  19. Can he play up front or on the wing?
  20. See a lot of ITKs and other accounts reporting that L'Equipe have said we've walked away from the deal until last 2 weeks of window, but can't find any L'Equipe article saying that.
  21. Arsenal are going to field a team of centre backs at some stage next season
  22. As well as waiting for PSG to buy every player they need for the next decade before we can move for Barcola, we are now waiting for Inter to sell all their players so they can pony up enough lira to sell Curtis Jones.
  23. Sounds promising https://xcancel.com/NicoSchira/status/2088094356641067320#m
  24. We also seem to be the only club that politely waits all summer for a club to complete every detail of about seven transfers before buying a player from the club
  25. Love our current owners's consistency - never afraid to sacrifice a season for the sake of some pin money
