  1. Any truth to these - very tenuous - Mario Gomez rumours? No? Thought so...
  2. Rob Jansen reportedly saying that Kuyt has told LFC he wants to leave, but won't push a move through 'at all costs' http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_6335021,00.html
  3. Haven't seen that bad-a-performance since the last days of Ged. Completely out played by a team not even playing well.
  4. 4-4-2 against what's practically a fluid 4-3-3 falling into 4-5-1 (without a centre forward to hold up the ball). Mancini is cautious, think if we can play with high intensity and try and form patterns of play in their half we might be alright.
  5. neiljjones #LFC have rejected €15m bid from #Barcelona for Javier Mascherano, according to the Guardian.
  6. If he has a niggle he might not want to risk it if he thinks he's off. Should wait and see re: the team and tactics. Can see how Roy thinks he's should play 4-4-2 is all I'm saying! I'd much rather us play something else, but it's Hodgson's preferred formation. He's a disciple of Scandinavian football, who place a massive emphasis on playing 4-4-2. EDIT: English fail.
  7. Only if Gerrard forgets he's a central midfielder.
  8. Jovanovic is a fully fledged winger and Kuyt can play that role or tuck in and allow Johnson to provide width on the wing. N'Gog and Torres are strong enough and have good enough movement to play as a two against them. Not like City have the best defence in the league, is it?
  9. He played 4-4-2 at home and 4-4-1-1 away against them last season. At home they held them 2-2 with Zamora and Kamara upfront and away they lost 2-1. I think that whilst Toure is adapting and Mancini is struggling to find their best formation (and while they don't have Dzeko or a fully fledged centre forward apart from Adebayor) that playing 4 in midfield might be the best option.
  10. 4-4-2 worked well enough for Spurs against them last weekend.
  11. That seems the most logical team, the only change I could foresee is Poulsen out for Lucas as it seems to early to throw him in like that. Pretty pumped for this.
  12. Get Creswell in and Savage to replace Masch. Can't remember what pundit it was but someone was saying "why doesn't anybody sign players from the lower leagues any more?". Err... Although, I'm not sure they think about where a lot of the bigger clubs youngsters come from.
  13. Marcotti Sky Italia reporting that only sticking point in Aquilani loan deal is price of buy back option. Juventus want 15m Euro Few Juve bloggers quite excited about prospect of him going there, so I guess he'd be in the first team.
  14. http://www.skysports...6326312,00.html Sky Sports reporting we have put a bid in for Toivonen. Around £9m.
  15. GK: Reina and Jones RB: Johnson and Kelly LB: Aurelio and Darby (at a stretch) CB: Carragher; Agger, Skrtel; Kyrgan; Wilson and Ayala DM: Lucas and Poulsen CM: Gerrard, Shelvey and Spearing RW: Maxi LW: Babel and Jovanovic AM: Cole and Pacheco SC: Torres and N'Gog. Assuming Kuyt, Mascherano, Cavalieri and Insua go. Urgh.
  16. Losing Kuyt, Mascherano and Aquilani totally s*its all over my good feeling regarding the strength of the squad last night. If it were to happen, of course.
  17. 4-2-3-1?
  18. Babbel and Arbeloa.
  19. I'm guessing it'll be Konchesky (Ben Smith - I think - from The Times has said we've made an offer) and Crouch (I don't doubt Elisha), with Babel being shipped out to Birmingham or Wolfsbury and Insua to Genoa.
  20. Perfect start. Defend and hit them on the counter. COME ON.
  21. To be fair, now the b*stard has come back on I'm thinking it was a sh*t decision. Thought he'd properly done him.
  22. HE'S F*CKING FINE!
  23. If that happened to one of our players, we'd be furious. People need to take their rose-tinted spectacles off. It was poorly timed and he did the guy, it's as simple as that.
  24. Unable to retain the ball, not much threat. They've played high up the pitch, shove someone with some pace on for N'Gog to try and get in behind them, Gerrard can still pick the ball. Silly tackle, took his standing leg, guy was stretchered off, can't complain really.
