I couldn't help but pick that out either.

Of course had I have known the whole sob story about injuries etc I wouldn't have boo'ed him. As far i was concerned he was brought off because Rafa wasn't happy with the way he was playing and dragged him off - and after a season of s**** from him I wouldn't have doubted him.

I could've lied and said I never doubted him, but I boo'ed him.

This was our Rome, Paris, Wembley et al, and one to tell the grandchildren about in later years. The only worry is that they won?t believe us!

And another of your quotes:

An old feller in front of, probably around fifty turned round to us and told us to ?Believe?.

Our Steve, who was barely 1 year old in our last final in 85 said the exact same to me. Years may pass but the thread and blood runs deep.

f***ing great story.

The most emotional day of my life.

Funny, I always used to assume anyone who booed their own player was a total c*ck. Especially at one-nil down in a European Cup Final when it could only ever have a negative effect on the whole team. But seeing as you didn't know the whole 'sob story' I realise you were actually perfectly within your rights.

True... I probably would have ;)

I can't believe you paid f***ing wads to get out there and then spent all that time behind the stand. I was giving my mate a big enough b******ing for turning his back to the penalties.

Your recollection of the bus journeys was the most familiar to me. Everyone was happy but just to drained to celebrate properly. I must have only been on the bus for 15 minutes after and I fell asleep. Mind you, in 48 hours I'd had a load of ale and hardly any sleep and then all the excitement of the night.

I bumped into a mate of mine outside the ground "Alright John" I said as we explained greetings. We walked about 400 yards then I said "See ya John" as we parted. We'd just won the European Cup but couldn't muster a conversation. It was all very weird.
