Everton v Wigan

[Andy @ Allerton]

Went to this yesterday and I think that Wigan will really struggle. Never have the words 'pub' and 'team' looked as nailed on as yesterday.

Bit of a strange game to go to, to be honest, at times Wigan would break with 1 or 2 players then get swamped - at other times randomly there would be 4 or 5 or 6 players in attack - which then broke down.

They could have been 2-0 before Everton pulled it back to 1-1. And Everton kept plucking away and eventually got a penalty late doors (Looked pretty clear to me) - the referee was very odd as well - some bookings were laughable - but he clearly didn't want to send anyone off - I think something like 6 or 7 Wigan players got booked - and Cahill could easily have been sent off towards the end.

All in all, an interesting game of football - best bit was when Moyes got slid-tackled by the Wigan lad - as an aside - isn't it supposed to be a punishable event if you're out of that technical area - honestly Moyes was never in the bloody thing. Also made me laugh how often the Gwladys appealed for anything the whole game. The atmpsphere was terrible as well until they finally pulled it back to 1-1. Moyes has a few issues to sort out - but that Rodwell looks like he's going to be quality - he was immense in the first half. Distin looked very comfortable as well given it was his first game. Neville is a whining, groaning moaning minnie.

They're grooming him for the Mancs just like Rooney then ? Expect a cheap sale to the Mancs in the next 18 months.
