John am Rhein Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 We use Windows servers here at work (Windows Server 2003) and make use of the standard 'Scheduled Tasks' program to run various processes at scheduled times either daily or weekly. This works pretty well, but when we were using the good/bad old AS/400 systems there was always a facility called 'Job Queues' where a process could be submitted to a queue as a 'job' and the system would run all the jobs on that queue one-by-one until the queue was empty, but never running 2 or more at the same time which is what sometimes happens with the windows scheduler, causing problems with low memory on occasions. Is there any similar or equivalent facility available for Windows? (even if we have to...(gasp)...pay for it?)
