This would be my first formal work in about 5 years if I get it so i'm hopeful that something good comes of it. I'm partly posting this as i'm nervous about the prospect of returning to work and also on the off chance that anyone working in building/recruitment can offer any advice.

I've been retraining to be a building surveyor at Salford Uni and there's an option to do a year in industry, starting this summer. I've been dead keen to do that and get some proper real life experience that can go towards chartered status.

I don't think I have a real chance of being recruited by the top commercial development companies and i'm not sure I'm cut out for that sort of corporate environment, so I've decided to try and find work at a different angle. I've found a possible opportunity at a housing trust where they have thousands of homes to manage and refurbish. They've said they could also send me to work with some of their partner organistions to help me develop skills in CAD for example and preparing plans for council planning approval.

So I have this meeting (not a formal interview) with a HR person, their training and development manager and a director of the trust. They have never had a placement student before, I cold called them and got them thinking about the idea, and they want me to help them scope out the role.

I'm sure there are people more experienced in these sorts of recruitment meetings, what are they looking for from me ? How should I approach it?
