02 network coverage

I am thinking of getting an iphone for my next phone but seem to remember there being issues with the coverage in the North West area, especially Liverpool.. (word of mouth rather than reports) I remember my mother in law visiting us and she had to put her 02 phone upstairs in our house to get a signal.. I live in the L12 area and don't want to go from Vodafone to 02 only to find I have to put my phone down upstairs in order to receive calls...

 

anyone in Liverpool got any complaints with 02's coverage?
