E-mail systems

I've used the good (Thunderbird, Outlook Express), the bad (Outlook) and the ugly (Lotus Notes, god help us!), but does anyone know an e-mail system that makes it possible to do the following:

 

1) send an e-mail to one or more recipients

2) automatically generate a reminder to pop-up later with a link to the sent e-mail and any replies subsequently received

 

this is something I find myself doing manually at work increasingly often. Can it in fact be done with any of the e-mail clients mentioned above?
