Train tickets

How strict are they usually when it comes to getting the train that your tickets are for?

 

Do you reckon if i booked train tickets for 9 o'clock i'd be all right just getting the 10.15 train?

 

I'm looking the cheapest way to get to Villa away and the train i'm meant to be getting is more expensive than the earlier one.
