Is there anyway you can get all the old music on an iPod onto a new (authorized machine) version of iTunes.

 

For some reason only music purchases will sync from the ipod itself to the PC but the catalogue of music on the iPod cannot be moved into the itunes music library.

 

Apple support has loads on the reverse but all I want is to get the files off the fekkin ipod itself (which they don't seem to have anything on) and don't want to dick around too much in case it decides to sync and removes everything
