Merseyside truants are being offered cut-price tickets for Everton in attempt to persuade them to stay in school.

Local schools will be given blocks of tickets at a reduced rate and these tickets will be offered to kids with the best attendance rates.

Imagine the scene on a Monday morning.

"Mum, don't want to go to school today"

"Why son are you sick"

"No, but if I go in today I'll qualify for a ticket for the next Everton home game"

"f*** that son, take the week off"

You mean they have spare tickets?

They're still advertising the FA Cup match for next weekend. Even at £20 they as yet haven't sold out. (well as of Thursday)

bit off topic but mate of mine used to work at a skool just outside leeds during the o'leary 'glory' day/s, they'd always offer him a few tickets for games. he'd dole them out to the hardcore nutters if they'd done something 'good' like come to class or/and not beaten/shot somebody.

on at least one occasion, for a euro game, they gave him hundreds - their thinking was get the ground full and brainwash the youth. most of the tickets ended up with adult relatives though!

i think its a great idea to entice local support. Most of these kids can be lifetime followers of the future.
