Start Spreading The News

I have just discovered that next season will be the last season at Yankee Stadium (why was I not informed of this? )

 

"Once the new stadium opens, most of the old stadium, including all of the above ground structure, will be demolished to become parkland."

 

I will therefore be obliged to visit New York (at last) next summer.

 

What is the general advice on when to go, where to stay, etc. and, above all, how to get into a Yankees game? Is there stuff like a stadium tour, museum, etc.?
