Can someone do me a favour!

I can't seem to get my new (second hand) VCR to record thro the digi box - I need to record a documentary on BBC4 'The Genius of Photography' Does anyone have one of those new fangled skyboxes or summat that can record it for me? I will be very grateful, please!!
