Ripping DVD's to PC/iTunes/iPod

Any recommendations on software to get my DVD's into iTunes and onto my iPod ??

 

There seems a total mish-mash of pirates out there flogging rubbish software, and can't seem to find any credible recommendations. I've downloaded the DV43 decrypter and tried "1Click DVDTOIPOD" but it was just stuttering nonsense when I ripped it.

 

Surely there must be a simple piece of software around that converts/rips DVD's into iTunes ?
