heighway Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 Was just looking at the LFC CL squad listed on uefa.com and noticed that Insua wasn't named at all, even though youngsters like Darby, Threlfall and Hobbs are there. Any ideas why Insua didn't make the cut? Not injured is he -or has he been shipped out on loan?
Falconhoof Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 must be to do with the fact that Darby, Threlfall and Hobbs are there because of the homegrown academy rules. But Insua would be another left back when we've got Riise, Aurelio and Arbeloa in the squad.
Bo Benn Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 hmmm. I'm not sure about Insua at all. Never seen him play in a game that matters and while surely he should get his chance I find it hard to believe he's considered better than than say Finnan, Arberloa, Riise, Aurelio. Guess there is not enough room for too many fullbacks in a 23 man squad. The other youngsters you're mentioning are english and homegrown and there are different inclusion rules applying to them, no?
sutty Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 He played at Fulham last year and was the highlight along with matty getting leathered and feeling up the tequila selling woman and getting ejected from the boozer
Elisha_Scott Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 He is a bit fat. Hardly a great insight, but its true.

Was forgetting about the homegrown players rule -and there's no shortage of LB's in the squad as you say Thought Insua looked promising the couple of glimpses we had of him last season; guess he'll get a run out in the Carling Cup.

I'm sure he'll get his chances. To be included in the 1st team squad as soon as he joined was a show of faith by Rafa.
