It's not a big deal but after the loss in the final a few were obviously gutted but discussion was there about the positives from the game and this was one that i remember ed from the game. I wasn't sure at what time or even what half it had happened in but I have now found out, having built up the needed beer level to watch the final again. Anyway the moment I was talking about was when Pennant made a double sliding tackle on 2 milan players , one after the other and in the end won us a throw. It is is small things like this that can overhaul my view on a player who i might have written off for one reason or another and I am now posting the time in which this event happened just so you'll see something that is in my view quite a positive trait for any player in any position and that is to not give up on a ball. To maintain posession or to try that extra bit harder to get it back after losing it can make the difference.

I don't have a link for people but if you can look at the game someone how then you will see what I was harping on about on the stroke of the 38th minute. Pennant makes a double tackle as I said, sure he only wins a throw but you can hear that it gives quite a rise to the crowd as it did to me at home.. you can be sure that these situations have an effect on the players and I think that it is because our players are willing to do these things more often than other teams is maybe half the reason for our recent successful runs in the champions league. it was evedent to anyone that the lack of this attitude is why Milan thrashed utd in the san siro... well alex ferguson didn't seem notice ;)

either way I think that maybe Pennant might well work out at liverpool.. sure he didn't set the world alight with amazing crosses and his runs can be ruined by his habit of holding onto the ball when he has run out of ideas, but I think there might well be a future for him if he keeps going with the right attitude. I think Rafa would appreciate him closing down players when possible as he knows best that liverpool defend as a team.

One of the major reasons man u were trashed by milan is the space provided by c.ronaldo when he refuses to track back, leaving heinze up against kaka and oddo alone.

Penant did well in that sense by not providing Seedorf the space to operate.Penant does have the talent and he does track back.Only time will tell whether he could be a success at liverpool and be the right winger that we all hope he could be.

think its obvious to all that pennant took his time in getting adjusted to life with liverpool, only really saw his true potential/talent in the last 3-4 months of the season...he certainly needs to work on his shooting/getting in goal scoring positions as 1 goal is not good enough for a winger....

I think in terms of the last few months, the only thing missing from his game is goals, he provides good service, but with Kuyt hovering around the centre circle it's usually squandered. And he does hold on to the ball too long sometimes, but he is often dodging tackles in the process, if he could shoot from those situations we'd have a player. I think he has a future with us
