Yesterday i was getting a train from newport to bath. i'd booked my ticket a few days ago £3 instead of the usual £11. i'd arranged to pick it up from the ticket machine in newport... all easy i thought.

get to newport the ticket machines aren't working. the ticket office is closed. the place is pretty much dead of workers.

get on the train and after 20 minutes the ticket inspector comes round. i tell him what's happend his compassionate response was, "you need a ticket to travel." i explain again. he just decides to start printing me a ticket then asks for £11 i told him i'd only paid 3 his reponse this time was a simple, "never happened." so yes you d*ck im just making all this up because im getting so much enjoyment from it. tell him i have a rail card "Show me" the charming conductor demands politest guy ive ever met. i begrudgingly pay £7 or something so ive now paid £10 to get this ticket cos they charge your card as soon as you order to pick it up early.

the annoying thing is my sister went from newport to liverpool the day before and didnt get asked for a ticket once. i was going a 45 minute trip and he got me within 10 mins.

needless to say the train was late which made me miss a bus and have to wait in the rain...
