Haven't seen a thread on this, but here's my take:

REINA 9 - Did everything asked of him over the 120 minutes, and then truly excelled in the penalty shootout. As Gerrard said, the best goalkeeper in the world.

RIISE 7 - Good defensively, could have supported Zenden more I thought.

AGGER 8 - Great goal, and shackled Drogba well.

CARRAGHER 8 - Nights like this were made for Carra. Solid as a rock.

FINNAN 7 - Like Riise, solid defensively, maybe could have pushed on more?

ZENDEN 8 - Worked tirelessly, and genuine flashes of quality. I admit I thought 'Oh f***' when I saw him in the lineup, but he proved me wrong.

MASCHERANO 8 - Brilliant. A worthy successor to Didi.

GERRARD 7 - Didn't really come off for him tonight, but he still kept going.

KUYT 8 - Hoe much did he run?? I don't think there was a blade of Anfield grass that Dirk didn't go over last night, and he was the main reason why Chelsea couldn't settle all evening.

CROUCH 6 - Shackled effectively by Terry, but was still involved in some our best moments.

Subs:

ALONSO 6 - Passing still as brilliant as ever, but the rest of his armoury was slightly below his usual high standards.

BELLAMY 6 - Tried hard, but no goal threat whatsoever.

FOWLER 7 - The talent is still there, but it's a shame to think that Robbie could have been the best striker in the world.

RAFA 10 - Man of the match. While we wonder what Zenden is doing on the pitch, Rafa quietly plots his way to another final. When he wins number 19 (very soon) he will be mentioned in the same breath as Shankly and Paisley, and rightly so.

Yeah. Fowler had a much better game than Alonso.

I'm sure Pennant played you know.

PENNANT 8 - Kept Chelsea's entire left side pinned back by himself, and put in some great, intelligent crosses too. Could solve the conundrum of Stevie's position if he carries on playing like this...

Well, no he didn't really, but he get's a couple of points extra - he is the ceremonial striker, y'know!

Incidentally, saw the Daily Mirror's player ratings, and this is what they had to say about Makelele:

CLAUDE MAKELELE: 4

Veteran midfielder was clumsy and no longer dictates the game. A really disappointing night for the Frenchman who looks increasingly past his best.

Don't know what other's think, but I thought he was the best Chelsea player out there, and possibly the man of the match. If they didn't dictate the game, it was more to do with Fat fw*** doing one of his famous disappearing acts...
