St. Paddy`s day in Ireland

Why are all St Paddy`s day parades in Ireland such lack-lustre, parochial failures?

Pictures from New York, Sydney or wherever else always show a great turnout, alot of obvious effort, colour and pageant.

But here; in the emerald isle; you get some sad, ham-actor, danderin down some grotty street, followed by an excuse of a procession and lined by morose corpses; usualy in the pissing rain; wearing f*ckwit hats, forcing themselves to have a good time, cos sure isn`t it great CRAIC!

Load of oul bullhooks!

Sure lets get pissed;like we need an excuse; and use it as an excuse to take the Irish Catholic opt-out from whatever we gave up for lent for a day.

I decided to give up religion one lent years ago and I haven`t broken that pledge yet.
