Lou Reed & Genya Ravan

I originally came across this on Lou Reed's site. Its a tune from the latter part of his "Puerto Rican amphetamine addled fag" period and though its by no means a classic they are both obviously having a great deal of fun.

 

I'd vaguely heard of Genya Ravan before as part of the mid/late 70s New York new/no wave scene. She was also one of the first female record producers to work in the American music business. What surprised me is the quality of her voice which is excellent. I've a feeling Patti Smith spent a lot of time listening to her.

 

Does anyone have any of her stuff they want to trade? I'm searching SoulSeek at the moment and though I've picked up a couple of tracks I havnt found thact much. If anyone can help me out I'm willing to provide a night of passion with a toothless, hairless person of small stature as some kind of reward. Well maybe not. but you get the general idea.

 

BTW, there is also some other stuff from her on YouTube. Bits of pieces are great and she comes across as a smart interesting person in the interview that is there.
