For those that go regularly to away games in Europe.

Is it advisable to travel to somewhere like Munich or Valencia without a ticket, in the hope that I can get one on the day, or not worth the hassle?

Who has done, does do this successfully / unsuccessfully?

Thanks

For group games its fine as there are always spares about, a quarter final next though and spares will be very rare or passed between mates. Ultimately up to you if you want to go out there for the crack, see a tout or just chance your luck and hope for pretty much a miracle and a spare appears.

Common sense.

You can go.

You may or may not get a ticket.

You may pay face. You may pay over the odds.

My view is that if you are going to do it, be prepared not to get into the ground.

Makes perfect sense. Thanks both.

Must still be great even if you don't get in.

Me and a mate went to Benfica without a ticket last season, we both got tickets. I paid face value (thanks Gray ), he paid 100 euro.

Some Portugeezers said to try and get a ticket in the home end and "cry", the stewards are more likely to let you into the away end than chuck you out.

Here's another idea....

Heard about a man who drove his wife in a wheelchair to the ticket office in Barcelona on the day of the match. He started crying his eyes out because he had promised his disabled wife to go to the match with her but had forgotten to buy the tickets. The ticket office found a way to get both of'em in to the area where the wheelchairs are.

Later that night they were both seen dancing down Las Ramblas...
